Do your students need Paperless Morning Meeting Slides of Videos to work on their reading skills while creating connections and building relationships? Using a Video of The Day can lead to tremendous growth academically and socially. The videos can be utilized during your Morning Meeting time along with your other components. 

The Video of The Day is on PowerPoint and can be used every morning during your Morning Meeting routine. All you have to do is bring up the PowerPoint each morning and play the video on the slide. This is a bundle of all of the videos for your morning meeting time. There are 162 editable and diverse videos spread out on three different PowerPoints.

If you would instead use a different video one day, you can delete the video and add your own! 

Students will infer, visualize, synthesize, and create connections with the videos.  Looking closely at a video is an important reading skill for students to develop to create inferences about what they are watching. Therefore, the inferences they are creating about the videos will lead to connections and inferences within their reading texts. Students who practice those skills outside of reading will most likely utilize those same skills while reading. You will need to teach students how to do that throughout the school year with the PowerPoint. 

Additionally, the Video of The Day can be used for writing prompts or centers. Students can view the video and write a story based on the video. The students may also write predictions on what they think would happen next if the video continued.

Using a Video of The Day can lead to tremendous growth academically and socially. The videos can be utilized during your Morning Meeting time along with your other components. 

The Video of The Day is on PowerPoint and can be used every morning during your Morning Meeting routine. All you have to do is bring up the PowerPoint each morning and play the video on the slide. There are 60 EDITABLE and DIVERSE videos! This is part 1 of 3, and parts 2 and part 3 have numerous editable videos as well! If you would rather use a different video one day, you can delete the video and add your own! 

Students will infer, visualize, synthesize, and create connections with the videos.  Looking closely at a video is an important reading skill for students to develop to create inferences about what they are watching. Therefore, the inferences they are creating about the videos will lead to connections and inferences within their reading texts. Students who practice those skills outside of reading will most likely utilize those same skills while reading. You will need to teach students how to do that throughout the school year with the PowerPoint. 

Additionally, The Video of The Day can be used for writing prompts or centers. Students can view the video and write a story based on the video. The students may also write predictions on what they think would happen next if the video continued.  

This is also an excellent resource to use with your remote learners as well. You could assign one or more slides to their learning management system for morning meetings and writing or reading activities.

Do your students need highly engaging morning meeting digital resources or a picture of the day to start off their morning? Morning Meeting Picture Slides are important to utilize to develop strong relationships with students and peer-to-peer relationships.  The picture of the day allows for deeper conversations and the building of a strong classroom community, which in turn raises academic achievement skills. The digital resource has many diverse pictures where everyone can feel represented.

How I Use Picture of The Day

As students are learning the 46 - 2nd grade sight words in this product, they will be provided with each word, an example of the word used in a sentence, and the opportunity to make up a sentence themselves using the word. I find that with my students who are Deaf/hard of hearing/ELL, when they make up sentences using each newly learned sight word, it helps them to remember how to spell the word, the meaning, and how it is used. My students love booklets of any kind that they can refer back to. Once they have come up with their sentences, they can include pictures that they print and cut out, draw pictures freehand, or find pictures in a magazine that they can add to each page of the 2nd grade sight word booklet that matches each sentence they come up with. This gives students the opportunity to connect what they are learning about in the classroom with their own personal interests. This booklet is perfect for students that are on grade level as well as students who require instructional information to be adapted.

This product covers comprehension question asked when students are reading the historical fiction book, Meet Samantha, 1904 - An American Girl. Students can work on the comprehension questions with 1:1 support, independently, or with help. Included with this product are comprehension questions - fill in the blank and short answer that relate directly with the movie Samantha: An American Girl Holiday. The questions asked in the 2nd half of this product also provide students the opportunity to compare and contrast the book and the movie with one another.

The book, The Amazing Days of Abby Hayes - Every Cloud has a Silver Lining is a great book for students. Abby is figuring out who she is, what she likes, not giving up and persevering through difficult situations, how to feel a sense of self accomplishment and being proud of who she is, which is a great read for students as they figure out these parts of their life. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text and each chapter. Students will have the opportunity to answer questions about the main character, Abby and what she is dealing with as she navigates school as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and example sentences are presented in the packet. Students can also write sentences using the vocabulary words. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet. Words that students may need help with spelling when answering comprehension questions are provided in this product as well. Each chapters questions are divided up throughout this product.
