Do you have kiddos who struggle with appropriate reactions to situations? This activity can help!
Packed with 20 scenario cards, students will have the opportunity to read through them and decide just how big the problem really is.
Included are three fuzzy monsters; big, medium, and small. Cut them out and laminate them. Have students read each scenario and sort them depending on the size of the problem. (You should have three different sorting piles). If it's a big problem, have them place the scenario card on the big monster. If it’s a medium problem, have them place the scenario card on the medium monster. If it’s a small problem, have them place the scenario card on the small monster.
Works best if all pieces, (monsters and scenario cards) are laminated.
Great for 1:1 or small group sessions.

Working With Emotions (Session #3)

The Sliders Game! Students match the 28 slider scenarios with the correct emotion the scenarios would evoke. they slide the slider portion until the emotion showing matches the emotions the situation would evoke. There is more than one possible answer to scenarios. As long as student reasoning and logic is sound, accept all answers. To assemble: Print Single Sided. Laminate. Cut Apart Half Page Cards. Cut Apart Bookmark Sized Sliders. Leave the white tips at the top and bottom of sliders intact. Only cut vertically. To create the sliders: 1) Cut slits along the two black lines on the situation cards. 2) Place the slider strip behind the card. 3) Push the slider strip through the front of the first slit (from the back), and out through the second slit (from the front). 4) Students slide the slider portion to match the emotion that the situation would evoke. (Refer to the pictures in the product preview) In the end, your students will know more about what situations evoke certain emotions. I hope you and your students love this activity! Discussing Emotions (Session #2)

The Discussion Game! Students remember and discuss how they have handled emotional situations in the past. Game Rules: One at a time, students pick a card. They tell a story based on what color card they choose. If they chose: Yellow chameleon, they tell a story about a time they had joy, when they were happy. Blue chameleon, tell a story about a time they felt sad. Red chameleon, a time they were angry. Green chameleon, when they were disgusted. Orange chameleon, a time they were surprised. Purple, a time they were fearful. If they pick a chameleon with no color, they can tell a story about any emotion they desire. I hope your students love this! This is now part of a bundle! Students can best utilize the services school counselors provide when they are explicitly taught the services school counselors have to offer. Help your students meet the counselor with this quick and engaging activity.
Explain the main roles and responsibilities of the school counselor by using the included cootie catcher and roll the dice activity.
Teach students that counselors are here to:
- Help students solve problems.
- Listen to students' problems and concerns.
- Help students make and keep friends.
- Help students deal with life changes.
- Remind students how special they are.

This activity allows students to become familiar with our roles and responsibilities as school counselors. Students roll the dice and explain how what they landed on is important. Recognizing Other People's Emotions (Session #5)

The Empathy Building Game Help students recognize and understand how other people would feel in a given situation. Have students “walk a mile” in other people’s shoes while answering one important question; How do you think they would feel? Two sets of 52 game cards are included. Black and white cards should be used with advanced groups who have a solid grasp on understanding emotions. Students pick a card, read the situation, and describe the emotions the person would feel. The colored cards can be used as a guide for students who still need help understanding the basic concepts. The colors on the chameleons (on the cards) match the emotions the situations would evoke. Remind children of their unique qualities by having them answer this question: What’s your superpower?
Are they kind? Do they make others feel good about themselves? Are they good friends? Are they athletic? What makes them super?

This lesson has been specifically developed to support students with learning or intellectual difficulties to understand key aspects relating to:
PERSONAL BODY SAFETY
When you were little your parents and carers took care of you. Now that you are getting older, it can be helpful to learn about some ways that can keep you safe, such as what to do and how to ask for help. We will learn about how you can keep safe, what you can do when you feel that you are unsafe, your body’s early warning signs and also who is in your network of people that you can talk to when you do feel unsafe.
This lesson has been created to include key information in a easy to read manner with visuals to support information retention. Depending on the age, developmental level and key learning needs, Teachers, Parents, School Counsellors and other Allied Health Professionals should use their insight and judgement to determine whether the information contained in this lesson is suitable and appropriate for each individual student.
This lesson is built into a scaffold learning system with a total of 6 lessons. You can choose to use this lesson in isolation, however should you with to further build the knowledge around relationships and sexuality, feel free to check out the remainder of the lessons. The lessons include:
