Students will learn the following vocabulary words in this product: continent, 6 regions in the United States - Northeast, Southeast, North Central, Rocky Mountain, Southwest, and Pacific Region. Relief maps, climate maps, temperature. thermometer, and moisture are reviewed.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, there is a review packet that goes through everything that was discussed in the notes. Students will complete fill in the blank questions using a key and answering short answer questions throughout the packet. Students can complete the review independently, with support, or it can be used as an assessment as well.

Students will practice writing their name, the day's of the week, holidays, using I, conjunctions, telling parts in sentences, joining telling parts, using end marks, using nouns for places, people, and things, special names for people, writing simple sentences, identifying one or more than one in a sentence, using he, she, and it in sentences, using describing words, feelings, identifying size, shape, taste, smell, colors, numbers, sense of touch and smell, describing words with er and est, describing weather words, action words, action words ending in ed, action words about now, using is and are, go and went, and was and were. Students will also be introduced to writing sentences about a picture, writing a story about themselves, writing a poem, writing a friendly letter, writing a descriptive paragraph, writing a story, writing a riddle, writing a book report, and writing how-to sentences. This product was made for students to learn about the 50 states, the spelling of each state, and each state's abbreviation. This product includes slides that are made up of the states that begin with the same letter on each slide, as these states can be confusing. For example: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, and Arkansas as well as their abbreviations so students can see the difference. Slides that show states that don't have any similarities, like Georgia, and states that have two words, like New York, are also addressed.
Each slide is provided with the state name and the abbreviation. Students can attempt to fill in the blanks of the abbreviations that were reviewed on each previous slide as well. This helps students to learn the spelling, abbreviations, and location of each state. This product can be used for students who benefit from having material adapted and it can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.

This product was made for students to choose 1 of the 50 states and research it. Students are provided with an example of a research report on California in this product. The example state research report includes 7 slides - cover page, where is your state?, facts of the state, symbols of the state, interesting fact about the state, state flag, and why did you write about your state? The example provides students with a foundation of what is expected when they complete their own state research report. This product was developed for students who benefit from adapted instruction. This product can also be used with students who are on grade level as well.
The template is provided for students to write their rough draft. Once students are finished they can create a final draft using Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc. using the information from their rough draft.

The First Americans - Notes and Review Adapted

This product was made for students to learn the following: that different people come to America, the first Americans - Indigenous Peoples, review of directions when going from one place to another in the world, what the first Americans ate, where they lived, what was used to build houses, how they found food, how they made tools and clothes, the first explorers, who the Vikings were, where the Vikings traveled, what colonies, a colony, and colonists are, how colonists and Indigenous Peoples lived on the same land, slaves, brief discussion of the Civil War, and immigrants coming to America to start a new life.
Adapted notes are provided along with an independent review after each slide. Students will be required to fill in the blanks using a key, answer short answer questions without a key, complete multiple choice questions, and look at a graph and answer short answer questions.
Students can complete the review independently, with support, or it can be used as an assessment as well.
