Natural Regions of Texas Lesson

This is a lesson over the Four Natural Regions of Texas. It includes 3 parts:
1. A reading over the physical geography of Texas and the 4 natural regions. Students will use reading to fill out a chart of Texas Regions.
2. A Map of the 4 Texas Regions. Students will label and color a map of Texas Regions.
3. A Texas Regions Matching Activity. Students will match regions with various geographical features.

Geography: Create a Country Recipe (Exploring Characteristics of a Country)

Students will have fun with this high-level, fun thinking activity. This lesson is a wonderful introduction activity. This will encourage students to explore the characteristics that define a nation: economics, culture, government, religion, etc.
This is best used as a beginning-of-the-year activity to understand the concept of what a nation is.
Students will work in groups to create a "Country Recipe" of a country/nation based upon its economic, political, and cultural characteristics.
The outcome? Students will understand what it means to be a "nation", whether a developed nation or a developing nation.
