Readers Theatre Scripts

There are many out there to suit a whole range of different year levels and themes!

I’ve created these social and emotional learning readers theatre scripts for years 3-6, with each focusing on a different area.

The Kindness Crew 

In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet the unique characters of the Kindness Crew: Charlie, Grace and Emma, as they embark on a mission to teach Zog, an alien from Planet Meany, about the importance of kindness.

The Inner Voices

In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet Emma and Liam, whose ‘inner champion’ and ‘inner critic’ accompany them for a day at school. Inner Champion offers positivity, encouragement and kindness… Whilst Inner Critic is negative, unhelpful and unkind.

The Emotion Busters 

In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet the unique characters of “The Emotion Busters”: Happy Harry, Sad Sally, Fearful Fred, Frustrated Fran and Angry Alex, as they drink a potion to suppress emotions they don’t like.

Resilient Riley 

In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet the unique characters of Resilient Riley and Non Resilient Riley. Resilient Riley steps up to date to day challenges, however Non Resilient Riley runs away and ends up feeling even worse.

Introducing my latest comprehension with questions and answers worksheets pack, Sally Strawberry in the Forest! This product includes a captivating story about Sally Strawberry and her adventure in the forest with her new friend, Mr. Pineapple. With engaging rhymes and fun characters, students will be drawn in and excited to read. The short reading comprehension pack also includes two different worksheets for students to use. The first worksheet has spaces for students to write their answers directly on the page, making it easy to keep track of their comprehension progress. “I Spy” proofreading and editing is a fun resource where students will be able to convey their knowledge of editing punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Wanting to do a book tasting with your students?

This document contains a 11 x 17 placemat-style worksheet for your students to use during a book tasting! It prompts them to collect information and to rate a series of books.

I provide the run-down and the how-to, to take the guesswork out of it. I include printing instructions!

This document has both an English and a French placemat.

Bonne rentrée ! Cette activité permettra à vos élèves de/d':

• explorer les livres dans votre classe,
• faire des recommandations à ses pairs,
• utiliser les recommandations de leurs pairs pour découvrir de nouveaux livres,
• faire des liens avec des lectures et des expériences passées,
• créer une « liste de souhaits » de lecture pour l'année scolaire.

Cette ressource est l'une de mes activités préférées pour la rentrée. Plusieurs versions de cette activité sont incluses selon l'âge de vos élèves ! Les élèves utiliseront des trombones ou des pinces à linge pour attacher leurs recommandations à leurs couvertures de livres préférées.

Ensuite, ils créeront leur propre liste de souhaits de livres en fonction des recommandations des camarades de classe.

Enfin, les élèves écriront un court texte persuasif expliquant pourquoi ils pensent que leur livre est le MEILLEUR, ce qui vous donnera un petit échantillon d'écriture afin que vous puissiez mieux répondre aux besoins de vos nouveaux élèves.
