File states to use Audacity (a free download online) but other recording programs/devices may be used - this is just a personal choice/what is available on our school computers. Reading conferences are just as important in the upper grades as they are in primary. This two-page form is easy to use and fill out for your students. 2. Events Crossword Puzzle - Students will complete a crossword puzzle that is focused on events (mainly from the movie but can be done with the book too)

4. Students will create their own event to add to the story to stop the Once-Ler from chopping down trees. - They will draw and then describe their new event

This is a movie watch along to go with Dr. Seuss's The Grinch (2018) and/or the classic book. Students will answer questions about the main idea and theme of the movie/story. They will also need to provide supporting details for both the main idea and theme. **A great extension for older students is to have them practice citing their details**
