Firstly, there is a great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to some of the key events of World War 2. There are 42 posters or cards that include many of the key events from the Second World War.

Secondly, there is a close reading activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity.

Finally, there is an informational text writing unit. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Ideal for students learning about World War II.

Students will learn about other laws that the Parliament passed that had to do with purchasing goods such as tea and paper, what the colonists did about this, and how they felt about this tax, The Boston Massacre, what caused it, where it happened, why it happened, how the Colonists felt and why, what the American Revolution is, what happened after the Boston Massacre with Parliament, The Boston Tea Party, what the Boston Tea Party was, what happened during the Boston Tea Party, how Parliament responded to the actions of the Colonists, The Boston Port Act and the Quartering Act - laws that were imposed by the Parliament, and how the Colonists felt about these laws, the American Revolution - where it started, Minutemen and how they helped during the American Revolution, when the American Revolution began, the first shots of the American Revolution, where the Colonists and the British Soldiers were going and why before and during the American Revolution, Battle at Bunker Hill, what happened during the Battle at Bunker Hill, the Second Continental Congress meeting to discuss needing an army with supplies, the commander - George Washington was chosen to lead the Colonists and why he was chosen for this position, how the Declaration of Independence came about, who was involved with writing the Declaration of Independence, events that led to the Declaration of Independence when looking at a timeline and answering questions pertaining to the timeline are covered. A review that includes multiple choice and short answer questions cover a variety of topics covered in this product. This review is located at the back of the product.

The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, they will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages, and a timeline that led to the Declaration of Independence is included, maps that show land east and west of the Mississippi River are included along with a map that shows where the first shots were fired during the American Revolution.

This is a scavenger hunt using task cards that analyzes how Iroquois and Algonquian tribes interacted with the environment and developed unique cultures which is studied in the 4th grade curriculum under the following standards:

4.2 Native American groups, chiefly the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) and Algonquian-speaking groups, inhabited the region that became New York State. Native American Indians interacted with the environment and developed unique cultures.

4.2a Geographic factors often influenced locations of early settlements. People made use of the resources and the lands around them to meet their basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter.

• Students will examine the locations of early Native American groups in relation to geographic features, noting how certain physical features are more likely to support settlement and larger populations.
• Students will investigate how Native Americans such as the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) and the Algonquian-speaking peoples adapted to and modified their environment to meet their needs and wants.

4.2b Native American groups developed specific patterns of organization and governance to manage their societies.

Students will compare and contrast the patterns of organization and governance of Native American groups such as the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) and Lenape, including matrilineal clan structure, decision-making processes, and record keeping, with a focus on local Native American groups.

4.2c Each Native American group developed a unique way of life with a shared set of customs, beliefs, and values.

• Students will examine Native American traditions; job specialization the roles of men, women, and children in their society; transportation systems; and technology.
• Students will examine contributions of Native Americans that are evident today.

This resource begins by challenging students with a mission, act as a treasure hunter to find the Moonstone Treasure from the attached fictional Iroquois folklore. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails. Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #6. Students MUST record which task card they found the answer on in their answer sheet under the “FOUND CARDS #” column. That column will be used at the end for the 4 digit lock code. They will follow the clues to find the correct 4 digit code. Once they have completed the scavenger hunt they will receive a half sheet of paper stating that they have successfully found the Moonstone!

This activity would be a great review before assessments, as a center activity, a group activity, etc. Students will be engaged with the learning while having a fun time trying to solve all of the clues!

This Civil War Reconstruction activity will make learning fun with this engaging, hands-on task card escape room. This activity includes 16 task cards that are broken down into 4 levels or puzzle types, giving students a chance to practice nonfiction reading comprehension skills while actively decoding puzzles.

Lead your students to discover information about the Reconstruction era by exploring it on their own before teaching or have them use it to review information. Students will answer questions that can be found directly in their reading passage, so there is no prior knowledge needed.
