Time allowance to complete:

5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.

40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)

Time allowance to assess:

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.

Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the gmail account where you wish to store the activity. In the past teachers have downloaded resources into their school account in error. Thanks :)

Mazes are such fun to work! They are great short activities for fast finishers, or for use as morning seat work or a Valentine's Day puzzle center. There are twelve moderate to slightly hard mazes (keys included) here to keep your students actively thinking. So, why use mazes in the classroom? Lots of reasons! Working mazes helps children grow in several ways. First, help your child to work on his problem solving skills, such as planning and brainstorming various strategies (e.g. starting from the beginning of the maze or working backwards from the end of maze). Second, they help develop fine motor control. Mazes us to control his pencil through the maze without hitting the black lines. And then finally, there’s visual motor skills. Mazes require students to use their eyes to scan the worksheet in order to find possible solutions. Scanning is a great skill used for reading and writing, as it is important to scan from the left side of the paper to the right side. Enjoy this? 4. Trim excess to fit the head and glue the ends together.
