Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to use their pointer finger (no paint brush) to create the flower pedals. Students filled the paper with fingerprint flowers for one class period. During the second-class period, students used crayons and color markers to draw stems, leaves, grass, insects, and other things in their scene. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

These creative Art name tags were designed to be printed, cut apart, and attached to your student’s amazing artworks. These name tags have a line designated for the student’s name, type of artwork it is, and grade level of the student. Using these name tags makes it easy for handing back artworks to students after the art is displayed in an art gallery, art museum, and/or art show. This unit should last 4-(50 minute) class periods. I allowed the use of crayon for everything except the lily pond. I allowed the use of watercolor paint for the lily pond. For this assignment, I placed several plastic pumpkins and gourds at each set of tables for students to look at and draw. Students practiced drawing/coloring pumpkins and gourds in their sketchbooks or on small paper first. Next, students started a Final Copy drawing of one observational pumpkin and one gourd on 11 x 17-inch paper (horizontal). Students used oil pastels and watercolor paint. Students traced their arm/hands, traced large lids, and used rulers and yardsticks to create a unique design. Students were asked to use either warm colors in their arm/hand, and cool colors in the background, OR vice versa. Students used watercolor paints to color their entire artwork. Students were asked to brainstorm ideas for the inside of the vase, and what the vase could be sitting on. Students were given the choice of sunflowers or other flowers to draw. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked the students to start right on a 18x24-inch Final Copy Paper. Students were asked to draw 15-30 large flowers all over their paper. Students were allowed to paint the flowers with any colors they wanted. When the artwork was dry students outlined all the flowers with a black sharpie marker. Some collage skills were added to the assignment at the end of the unit when students needed to cut/glue down strips of construction paper to the bottom of the Final Copy Field of Flowers, to look like fence posts. This creative Bird’s Eye View Perspective Unit: 3D Forms OR City Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this PDF file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to choose a Perspective artwork to complete: the 3D Forms artwork OR the City Scene artwork. Students used a ruler for most of this assignment and learned perspective drawing. Students worked with value or details in their artworks. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Ghostly Self Portraits Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. It is best to use grey newsprint paper if you have it, but if you do not you could use white drawing paper (if you give the white paper a grey-ish look ahead of time). I used pencil to sketch everything out in student sketchbooks and on final copy newsprint paper. I used black crayon OR black oil pastel (depending on grade level) to first outline the major features of the pencil drawing. The older students used oil pastels. After outlining, white crayon OR white oil pastels were used for the self-portrait eyes, and a few other areas. Pattern was a focus throughout the composition whether it showed up on the person or in the background. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.
