When October comes around, we all start seeing pumpkins and signs of Halloween. Carving pumpkins to make jack-o’-lanterns is a traditional Halloween activity. Do your students know the history of why pumpkins are carved?

In this product, students will learn about thermal energy. In the beginning of the product, matter is reviewed and how matter can be seen in three different forms - solid, liquid, and gas. Students will then review how matter changes. Thermal energy will be introduced in this product. Students will then discuss the meaning of thermal energy, how heat flows from warmer to colder objects and examples will be provided.
