$5 - $10 5th Grade Informational Text Worksheets (by price, low to high)

Identifying text structure can be tricky, but this interactive and hands-on sort makes practice engaging, particularly because the topics are relevant for middle school students. This set includes sports, video games, and social media topics, students will enjoy reading through each prompt and moving the pieces to the correct spot on the gameboard. This scavenger hunt is a fun way for students to learn fun and interesting facts about Ukraine while bringing attention to the country & culture. Students can work together to complete the scavenger hunt bringing unity to the classroom. Activity pages at the end give students the opportunity to reflect and even express their emotions.

This resource does not directly address the current climate or war in Ukraine. This resource was designed to teach about the beauty of Ukraine and its rich culture. I have found many students have been flooded with information and images of the war from different media source. This gives students insight to what Ukraine was like before the war.

Two resources perfect for students learning about A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare; a play script written for young performers and a close reading activity.

The play script is a mix of modern English with some of the famous lines from the real play mixed in as well. There are 26 speaking parts, all rewritten to be suitable for ages 9 to 14. The script also comes with a PDF teacher presentation to help you introduce the play and the characters to your students.

The close reading passage includes a teacher presentation, comprehension and grammar questions, a multiple choice quiz, a crossword puzzle and a wordsearch about William Shakespeare's famous play, A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The play script has been rewritten to be suitable for young performers. A Midsummer Night’s Dream tells the story of four Athenian lovers who have a complicated yet dramatic love life. Lysander and Hermia loved each other and wished to be together. Helena loved Demetrius, but Demetrius loved Hermia, and Hermia’s father wanted him to marry his daughter.

Hermia and Lysander decided to run off together into the woods. But the woods were haunted by the Fairy King and Queen - Oberon and Titania, and the King’s mischievous henchman, Puck. The play tells the magical story of the eventual coming together of the four lovers, and Duke Theseus and his bride, Hippolyta.

I hope you enjoy it – good luck! There are 26 speaking roles with parts for the whole class; the language is a mix of Shakespearean and more modern English. Ideal for theatre performances or plays, reading activities or guided reading sessions.

Time allowance to complete each activity:

5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.

40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)

Time allowance to assess:

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.

Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the gmail account where you wish to store the activity. In the past teachers have downloaded resources into their school account in error. Thanks :)

Great for class work, distance learning or home schooling. In total there are 30 posters or task cards that need to be researched and sorted. These can also be printed to make a great classroom display.

Then there is a World War 1 Close Reading Activity. The Google Forms activity comes with an informational text that students need to read through before answering comprehension and grammar questions. An extension writing task is also included.

Finally there is also a World War I Informational Text Writing Activity. The activity focuses on key facts about the war, and has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
