5th Grade Other (Math) Scaffolded Notes (by date, latest first)

These guided notes are a great way to instruct and/or review your ratios unit! Topics include introduction to ratios, equivalent ratios, modeling equivalent ratios (ratio table, double number line, tape diagram), rates and unit rates, graphing ratios, ratios as percent, and converting between fractions, decimals and percents. Each topic includes key vocabulary, step by step instructions, and practice problems. My students use their notebook as a key resource throughout the entire year. Even past students come back to me to tell me that they still use their 6th grade notebooks. **These notes are only for the Ratios Unit. The full year notes include the ratios unit, number systems, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability. This math notebook is full of guided notes for all 5th grade math standards. A great way to introduce new concepts, or review for state testing. Students will use Basic Division Facts / Division fact fluency to work on these long division worksheets that will help build their confidence gradually when they're ready! Teach students the very important concept of the long division algorithm using this beginner's practice worksheet, students must have a good recall of division facts (which are just multiplication facts expressed differently).
