This is a great sheet for following directions and coming up with a strategy to follow those directions. It checks reading comprehension and knowing left and right as well. I use it with 6th graders to show how important carefully following directions can be. It could easily be used with younger grades or possibly older grades as well.

This dinosaur file has two Power Points and you can also use them as flashcards to print. Students will be able to show prior knowledge using pictures and also learn about dinosaur facts they didn't already know with created sentences. You can also write these sentences on sentence strips to match to pictures. This is great for any Elementary classroom or ESL class. You can use many ESL strategies to teach these dinosaur facts. Character traits and analysis fun!

Have some outdoor fun (or use butcher paper for indoors) with sidewalk novel characters! Students choose a character from their novels then do body outlines with sidewalk chalk. Fill these with physical and character traits from quotes within the novel...full directions for implementing and making a competitive game. Can be used with all ages and novels. Excellent for comprehension and assessment.

This is a simple freebie bookmark themed around Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. There is a colored version and a black-and-white version if your students would like to color it. It comes with the quote from the book, "I am the Lorax, and I speak for the trees!".

This document contains a 11 x 17 placemat-style worksheet for your students to use during a book tasting! It prompts them to collect information and to rate a series of books.

I provide the run-down and the how-to, to take the guesswork out of it. I include printing instructions!

This document has both an English and a French placemat.

Your 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will love practicing reading out loud with these engaging and high-interest sentences!  This set includes 48 low-prep sentences perfect for practicing reading fluency.  The sentences are all about summer, camping, and ice cream! Quick and easy set up plus clear student directions make these activities perfect independent practice, literacy centers, and homeschooling families!
