This resource features 60 Writing/Discussion Leadership Prompts that familiarizes students with the different aspects of leadership. These writing/discussion prompts can help students explore what it means to be a leader in all kinds of situations further encouraging them to start thinking about how they can both develop and/or improve their own leadership skills and behaviors.
✨ You can use the prompts as discussion topics or writing prompts – or BOTH! It’s a great way to spark some interesting conversations about what it means to be a leader.
✨ You may also use these writing/discussion prompts to assess what students already know about what leadership means and what more you need to do to further develop their comprehension of leadership.
✨ You can also have students role-play some of the ideas presented in the Task Cards! It would be super fun to see how students would demonstrate leadership behaviors! (You can then have others critique their responses, behaviors, and actions. Hey, it’s all part of leadership – Delivering, receiving, and responding to constructive feedback, even as they role-play!)

Are you looking for a different approach to using the Scientific Method/ Engineering Design Process? “Can They Do That?” is a "TV-show type" series that presents things made in the movies/television and challenges the students to prove or disprove "Can They Do That?" This first episode looks at a hot air balloon contraption built out of hair dryers and trash bags on the A-Team.
Students start the lesson by watching a clip from a TV show (included in PowerPoint). They are presented with a “problem” by the TV Show Host and then they work through the EDP.
This lesson includes the Video Introduction embedded in a PowerPoint with a Student Handout that guides students research, prototype and solution.

Stock Portfolio in Microsoft Excel | Distance Learning
By Innovations in Technology
Learning about the Stock Market using Microsoft Excel lets middle schoolers see how an investment can grow and change, as well as the importance of thorough research. Utilizing Microsoft Excel, students “purchase” and track several stocks over a 6 week period. They have the opportunity to sell stocks or hold them, depending on the market research they do. Using a template they create in Microsoft Excel, they will track the increases and declines in their stock investments and see how much they can make their initial investment grow during the 6 weeks. This lesson is intended for beginning Excel users and was created using Microsoft Excel 2013. It is easily adaptable for different versions.

Exploring Careers: Education & Training | Distance Learning
By Innovations in Technology
This career unit gives students an introduction to the education and training career cluster and what a career in this field would be like. This is perfect for a career, technology, CTE or business class.
The included PowerPoint presentation can be used by the teacher for whole class instruction, or provided to the students electronically (or as a printout) for them to review individually. Students use close reading skills with a short informational passage to learn about the career field and answer questions to use critical thinking skills and demonstrate their understanding. Two different puzzles are included to learn different jobs in the career and to reinforce vocabulary skills. An individual project researching a famous education offers students an opportunity for a real-life look into this career. A technology based group lesson creation/tutorial video project is provided to simulate the career and allow students to utilize critical thinking skills and teamwork. Finally, a short reflection questionnaire gives students the opportunity to reflect and analyze their learning as they determine if this career field is of interest to them.
The project was created for grades 7-8 but could easily be used with high school students. The teacher can choose to use some or all of the provided lesson options included in this resource.
This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.
