Readers Theatre Bundle - Social and Emotional Story Scripts

Looking for some hidden social and emotional lessons in your readers theatre? Does your class need a lesson on the importance of kindness, emotions, dealing with an inner critic or resilience? These scripts are perfect to work into your literacy lessons while delivering a message for your students. You could even perform these in your social and emotional learning lessons!

The Kindness Crew
In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet the unique characters of the Kindness Crew: Charlie, Grace and Emma, as they embark on a mission to teach Zog, an alien from Planet Meany, about the importance of kindness.
The Inner Voices
In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet Emma and Liam, whose ‘inner champion’ and ‘inner critic’ accompany them for a day at school. Inner Champion offers positivity, encouragement and kindness… Whilst Inner Critic is negative, unhelpful and unkind.
The Emotion Busters
In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet the unique characters of "The Emotion Busters": Happy Harry, Sad Sally, Fearful Fred, Frustrated Fran and Angry Alex, as they drink a potion to suppress emotions they don't like.
Resilient Riley
In this Readers Theatre script, your students will meet the unique characters of Resilient Riley and Non Resilient Riley. Resilient Riley steps up to date to day challenges, however Non Resilient Riley runs away and ends up feeling even worse.
Perfect for Years 3 - 6: Suitable for upper elementary/primary, these scripts can be adapted for various grade levels. The language is simple and easy to follow.

The responses in the unit have been planned and arranged so that your students will practise a wide range of comprehension strategies in context.
The unit is formatted in the order of the book, so that teachers can provide follow-ups after every reading session. The Unit can be followed chapter by chapter.
Each Chapter has a set of questions, with an extra response included after every second chapter.
The unit includes a range of activities and responses that can be assigned to individuals or groups of students. Tasks can be completed independently, collaboratively or alongside a teacher. The full range of activities can be viewed in the preview.
All activities have been designed with student engagement at the forefront. In responding to the book, students will be required to think both within and beyond the text. Children learn best when they are having fun! Even better that they are learning the love of books at the same time!
