Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to a neat copy on the template provided.

The introduction has students begin with an interesting lead and include sentences with general and specific sentences on appearance, habitat, diet, life cycle, and predators. There are two introduction templates on one page. This page will simply need to be cut in half so that an introduction can be given to two students per page. The body paragraph template has space for four paragraphs with main idea titles and spaces for key words that will be turned into sentences. Remind students to add transition words when they write their final draft. The conclusion has a blank for a transition word, which has helped my students remember to put one.
