In this fraction review, students will add or subtract each problem and write each problem in simplest form. This packet can be used as a homework assignment, in-class assignment, or test review and test.

In 7th Grade, the main focus should be on four key areas: understanding and applying proportional relationships, working with rational numbers, expressions, and linear equations, solving problems with scale drawings and geometric shapes, and making inferences about populations from samples.

1. Students expand their knowledge of ratios and acquire comprehension of proportionality in order to solve single- and multi-step problems.
2. Students gain a comprehensive grasp of numbers by identifying fractions, decimals (finite or repeating), and percents as various forms of rational numbers.
3. Students continue their work with area from Grade 6, solving problems involving the area and circumference of a circle and surface area of three-dimensional objects.
4. Students expand on their prior experience analyzing individual data distributions by comparing two data distributions and examining discrepancies between populations.

In this comparing money product, students will add quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies that are worth different amounts. Students will then compare the two amounts and determine if the amounts are greater than, less than, or equal to. One example is provided. A reminder is provided for students to include the $ symbol or decimal after they have added the change together. A box is also provided on each page if students want to show their work. Students will begin by adding and comparing quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies by themselves leading up to mixing and adding quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies together.
