Less than $5 7th Grade Reading Strategies Printables (by price, high to low)

My "big" kids in grades 5 and 6 have been struggling with their French sounds - both basic and complex - and we're backtracking! However, because of their unique needs, I was struggling to find texts at their level that featured these complex sounds - in excess - for them to practice, see in real life and to work with them in guided readings or 1:1. I was finding myself scouring my shelves for books that had ample opportunities for them to see and practice a certain sound and wasn't having success; so I decided to create texts that hone in on specific sound formations they're struggling with, have never properly learned, or have forgotten. They are texts which feature vocabulary at the grade 5-6 instructional level.

I was also tired of running back and forth from my literacy lab to find reading records and wanted to have them printable from my classroom. If you're in a similar boat, this is the product for you!

This collection features 44 pages of resources:

- 12 texts (student version to be printed and used in small groups or 1:1)

- 12 texts (teachable version with sounds highlighted, or for differentiated instruction)

- 12 "fiches" to use as a fiche d'observation/fiche d'évaluation en littératie in a 1:1 setting featuring columns you're used to seeing (Erreurs, autocorrections, S | St | V strategies, Fluidité, Date, Nom de l'évaluateur et nom de l'élève). I've also provided you with a handy accuracy calculator so you don't need to pull out your calculator for each individual text. Circle the number of errors and you'll be given their accuracy percentage. Each text features comprehension questions.

The sounds and textual features you'll see featured in these series of texts include:

• -ais, -ait, -aient, -ent, -ment, -ant, -ante (suffixes)
• -i, -ui, -ier, -ierre, -air, -ien, -ain, -oi, -ieu, -in, -ie (bases et suffixes)
• -i, -ie, ié -is, -it, -eille, -ay, -oi , -io (bases et suffixes)
• -ai, -ou, -eu, -oi, -io, -ui, -ue, -eau, -ie (bases et suffixes)
• les sons muets: -t, -s, -d, -ent, h, -c (suffixes - sauf le "h")
• apostrophes et traits d’union
• -e muet et non-muet (suffixes)

The book, The Bailey School Kids - Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots Graphic Novel is a great book for students. Students will learn about responsibility, being a good friend, being responsible, being respectful, and working as a group while reading this book. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text and each chapter. Comprehension questions are placed in order with each chapter. Students will have the opportunity to answer vocabulary questions that are presented throughout this product, before answering comprehension questions. At the end of the product students can answer longer questions about what their favorite part of the book was and who was their favorite character and why.
