Vocabulary words that are emphasized in this packet include: digestive system and where it begins, small intestine, large intestine, nutrients - fats/oils, dairy, meat, fruit, vegetables, and grains, and the levels of cellular organization - organism, organ system, organ, tissue, and cells.

These notes can also be used as adapted notes for students who need more support. This packet includes a quick vocabulary review based on the digestive system. A key is provided for the fill in the blank answers.

Reading Medicine Labels - BUNDLE

This resource is designed to expose students to a variety of real over the counter medications that they would find in their local pharmacies, grocery stores, general merchandise retailer or even in their medicine cabinets at home. Students will read the medicine labels closely and answer questions to show understanding. This resource introduces medications that are taken at different times of day (A.M. & P.M.), different ways to take medications (pill, syrup, chewable tablet), and where to look to find out important information such as what the medication treats, how long the medication works for, and what strength the dosage is.

Knowing what signs indicate sensory needs is imperative for adults working with students with autism or sensory processing disorders. This poster gives indicators of ONE type of sensory need 'vestibular'. It also pairs signs that a student may be over or underresponsive to vestibular sensory and activities to help the student self-regulate under either circumstance. Students love playing this "Vocabulary Match Game!" It is an easy and fun way to learn key vocabulary words. Students combine the vocabulary word with its matching definition using self-checking word cards. It can be played independently or in pairs.
