These games are perfect for centers, tutorials, small groups, homeschooling, homework, sub plans and more! Students will practice vocabulary words by rolling a physical or digital dice using the provided qr code, and then reading the matching nonsense word, and coloring the box using the correct matching color.

Directions

Materials Needed:

• One of the 10 worksheets or the editable template where you add your own words
• A regular six-sided die
• Colors
• Optional: A device with a QR code scanner (phone, tablet, etc.)

Rolling the Die:

• Students roll a six-sided die to determine which color word they read in Spanish.
• Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.

Reading the Word:

• Students match the number rolled with the corresponding color word on their worksheet.
• Students read aloud the color in Spanish to practice pronunciation.

Marking Progress:

• Once students read a word, they should shade in color the box using the color that matches the Spanish word read.
• If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new word.
• Students continue rolling and reading until they have completed all the words on their worksheet.

Classroom management in a middle school Core French classroom can be dicey! That's why I engage my students as much as possible to keep em' on their toes! Prof du jour is a part of my everyday routine, where a different student each day is given the opportunity to lead the discussions with their peers and to give them confidence in French. • A simple spin on the classic game of I SPY ("Cherche et trouve" ou "C'est moi l'espion") geared towards Core French/FSL students in which they are first given practice with the structure: "Est-ce que c'est..." and answering the question with the affirmative, "oui, c'est..." or the negative, "non, ce n'est pas..."

My (very) low-level middle-schoolers love learning about niche objects and concepts in Core French. I use their interests and personalities to create engaging projects that meet the outcomes. I actively use this particular project with grades 4, 5 and 6 but it could easily be used in a grade 7 or even grade 8 classrooms. If you use Pearson's Échos Pros, this works AMAZINGLY alongside "Ah oui, j'aime ça!"

Boost your students' vocabulary surrounding Fall and Halloween with this Make-Your-Own Bingo activity suitable for all ages and all levels of French.

This activity is a great way to have your students create their own bingo cards and then to play with them. It comes with many versions depending on your Core French groups.

1. Two versions, one with instructions in English and one with instructions in French, which prompt your students to color, cut and paste to create their bingo card.
2. Two versions, one with instructions in English and one with instructions in French, which prompt your students to create their own illustrations, cut and paste to their bingo card.

Choose the version applicable to your students' level and then they'll cut out their squares and paste them to their bingo card. Take this to the next level by laminating their cards so that they can use a dry-erase marker as a bingo dabber!

Here's how the QUEL DOMMAGE game works:

STEP 1

• Print the game cards on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out.
• Laminate the cards

STEP 2

• Put all of the game pieces in a box and divide your students into small teams.
• Give each team gets a box of questions and a copy of the answer key.
• Students must replace the underlined words in the sentences with pronouns (for example) and say the sentence correctly. When they are correct, they get to keep their game card. However, when they draw a QUEL DOMMAGE card they have to put all of their game cards back in the box.
• The student with the most game cards at the end is the winner.
