Team Target Review: Solving Equations Group Review Activity Grade 8

Ever needed a review activity on solving equations that was fun and engaging for your students? Team Target Review is a cooperative and competitive activity designed to get students thinking, talking, and working together.
Teams of 2-4 students work together to complete increasing levels of difficulty on solving equations. As students progress, you can quickly assess mastery and give intervention help on the spot.
This activity works great as an engaging review session before an assessment, a quick(ish) activity on one of those pesky minimum days where you have limited time, or as part of a block period when you want to break up the direct instruction.
This activity includes:
-Suggested activity instructions (based on how I run this in my classroom).
-5 rounds with four problems each of targeted review on solving equations for 8th grade.
-Complete worked out solutions for each round.

FREEBIE Solving One Step Equations Activity Show Your Work Digital and Printable

Let your sixth graders practice one-step equations while having fun with this engaging, no-prep, digital, easy to use drag and drop or printable activity. I used it as a sub-plan in sixth grade and the kids liked it.
Lining up the numbers and variables makes the students think before each step.
If, after some problems the students wanted to work faster, I have also created text boxes so they can type in the steps on the rest of the slides.
If you prefer them to use paper and pencil a printable version is also included.
After this activity your students are most likely to masters this topic.

Level Ups: Defining & Comparing Functions FREE Review Activity | Grade 8 Math

Level Ups are a fun way for your students to practice or review defining functions and comparing functions. Aligned to the common core standards, this Level Ups activity includes 5 differentiated tasks that increase in rigor. The task cards begin with pre-requisite skills involving identifying the slope and y-intercept of linear functions in different representations, then "level up" all the way to creating and comparing functions that are both linear and non-linear.
Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. This lesson works as a great way to review what is and is not a function, or as preparation for an upcoming assessment.
This activity includes:
-Suggested activity instructions (based on how I run this in my classroom).
-Five levels with 6 - 11 questions each.
-Complete answer keys for each level.
