This bundle includes all four parts of the Physical Science lessons.

Students will be guided through their introduction to various parts of Physical Science. This bundle is 30% off!

• They start with Matter and Structure where they learn about physical properties focusing on Solubility, Conductivity, Elasticity, Hardness, Reflectivity, and Texture, and how to observe physical properties. Physical properties are introduced,

• Students then learn briefly about the periodic table and its history, and atoms. Students will also use pixel art to familiarize themselves with the table and complete a project!

• Students go to chemical properties after and learn how to measure and be introduced to the conservation of mass via lab work.

• Lastly, Students will learn about Heterogenous and Homogenous Mixtures. They will be given an overview of changing state to refresh prior knowledge and how that assists in understanding mixtures. They complete a summative lab that focuses on mixtures with a bonus extension challenge.

Coaching Science Olympiad is one of the most exhausting but rewarding academic extracurricular activities. You will see students grow and learn so much and see their love of science and STEM expand! This guide is for new coaches, either those starting their own Science Olympiad program or for those taking over existing programs. I was a Science Olympiad coach for 6 years and am sharing how I was able to stay organized and help students try their best and succeed!

2 "mini" labs that will help students observe and make connections to compounds and mixtures. The first introduces students to the concept of mixtures. The second shows the concept that not all liquids act alike so conclusions can be drawn about how materials interact when put together.

These short activities reinforce or introduce concepts to students. I call these activities “mini labs” because they are simple activities that do not take the whole class period. They are also activities that are safe for use in the classroom and do not have to be done in a lab or with any specialty equipment or materials. I often use these demonstrations to lead into new content, that way as we cover material I can refer back to the things that my students have experienced first hand.
