Level Ups are a fun way for your students to practice or review transformations on the coordinate plane, including translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations. Aligned to the common core standards, this Level Ups activity includes 5 differentiated tasks that increase in rigor. The task cards begin with pre-requisite skills of graphing on a coordinate plane and identifying basic transformations, then "level up" all the way to performing a sequence of up to three different transformations.

Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. This lesson works as a great way to review transformations, or as preparation for an upcoming assessment.

This activity includes:

• Suggested activity instructions (based on how I run this in my classroom).
• Five levels with 4 - 9 questions each.
• Complete answer keys for each level.

The influence of Pythagoras in mathematics and philosophy remains strong today, as do the mysteries surrounding the great Greek philosopher. Like philosophy and religion, the science of mathematics can change the way we perceive the world and has a massive impact on our lives.

Pythagoras’ philosophy influenced both Plato and Aristotle, and through them his ideas were fundamental in Western philosophy. The Pythagorean school was pivotal in the evolution of human intellect and in raising the level of philosophical thought for 2,500 years.

In his life 2,500 years ago, the Greek philosopher combined philosophy, mathematics, and religion, and his work and ideas are still influential to this day. The Pythagorean theorem remains fundamental in mathematics and is taught in schools across the world.

This practical ebook features an introduction to Pythagoras and an analysis of his theorem for young students. It also includes exercises for practice, and their answers at the end.

This winter themed color by number is a fun way to review finding side measurements of special right triangles. The students will apply relationships of 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangles to find the missing side lengths given one side.
