I use this as an introduction activity for my middle school A/V Broadcasting class. I present a really quick overview of film and then they pick a topic with a partner. We take 2-3 days to research and build our presentations and then we take 2-3 days to present our findings. It's a quick introduction to the different periods of film, plus it allows me to see/hear all of my students before we start making videos.

Well, here is a PowerPoint that will alleviate those issues before you begin. I've been using this for years and when students come in from other classes (I'm the Tech teacher) saying they are having issues, I show them this and they leave with the problems corrected. This PowerPoint sums up the issues and offers a solution that will prevent them from happening!!

Students will use the prompts and drawing templates to design their own Protagonist with a unique backstory and their own set of skills, strengths & weaknesses. This resource includes three options: a male version, a female version, and a blank canvas where any of your more creative students can create something truly unique. Students who like to trace will also appreciate the blank version. Use this assignment for early finishers or to supplement and support any creative writing assignment & quickly elevate your student's storytelling to the next level.

This lesson allows students to use Microsoft Word, Google Docs or Canva to create a printable Valentine’s Day card. A complete, step-by-step instruction guide is included for Microsoft Word, a Quick Start Guide is included for Canva, and links are also provided to online tutorials for Google Docs and Canva. Also included are the project expectations and a grading rubric. This is a fun, creative project that reinforces technology skills while inspiring creativity in students. Different software options allow teachers to utilize available resources, give students a choice of which software they would like to use, and encourage new learning skills. The lesson was designed for middle school (grades 6-8) but could easily be used in upper elementary or high school as well. All files are editable.

· Access to computers for each student with Internet access and Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Canva (free, no download needed: https://www.canva.com/)

· Printer (color or black & white) to print cards
