These guided math notes are perfect for helping your students build a math notebook during your 7th grade ratios & proportions unit. It is a great way to introduce new concepts, or review for state testing. These notebook pages include step-by-step instructions, key vocabulary words, examples, and practice opportunities. This lesson has everything you need to teach a "Thin Slicing" lesson on writing linear functions from a table of values for 8th grade math. These progressively challenging task cards start students with simple proportional relationships and progress up to writing a linear function from only two ordered pairs. This lesson with printable task cards uses Building Thinking Classrooms strategies for teaching math created by Peter Liljedahl. If you have been looking to implement the Building Thinking Classrooms model of instruction, but don't know where to start, this is a great resource for you.

This lesson includes the following materials:

Each lesson can be laid out on TWO pages. On the left hand side of the notebook is the guided notes booklet that includes a Do Now, Guided Examples and Practice Examples. On the right hand side of the notebook for the same lesson is an activity. These activities include mysteries, scavenger hunts, error error analysis, cut and pastes, coloring, and more! Each activity is great practice with a lot of engagement!

Each lesson should cover MOST of your period so you don't have to plan - just PRINT and hand out!

None of the booklets or activities have unit numbers on them so you can mix and match them however you would like and make it fit the way YOU like to teach! :) .

There will be 13 units total which will include 131 lessons & 131 activities by September 17th!

SO MANY USES FOR THIS NOTEBOOK:

- Use it from the beginning of the year

• Have your students get a notebook and go through the lessons guided notes section with them, have them practice the questions and complete the activity as classwork.

- Use it as end of unit reviews

• Have your students get a "review" notebook and after every unit assign them lessons and activities from this book to help them prepare

- Use it as an end of the year project review

• Have your students get a notebook and assign them the lessons and activities to complete to review for their final exam.
• Have them turn in a complete notebook for a project grade

This is a fill in the blank function vocabulary notes/reference sheet. This can be used as a differentiation page or just to save time since students do not have to copy the whole definition. Words included are relation, function, parent function, representations, domain, range, increasing and decreasing function, independent and dependent variables, continuous, and discrete.
