French Christmas Role Play Skit - Listening and Reading Comprehension - Noël
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
This is a French dialogue about Christmas between two people. The title of this skit is Au Marché de Noël. Short skits or dialogues like this one can be used in many ways during the weeks leading up to Christmas.
I've included a 4 step lesson plan which includes listening comprehension, reading comprehension, answering comprehension questions, and acting out the skit with a partner or in small groups.
This skit can also be used as an individual reading comprehension assessment. 14 reading comprehension questions are included.
Check out all of my Christmas resources for the French classroom here.
The skit can be printed on one side of a sheet of paper and the questions on the other for a really easy, no prep Christmas activity. The grammar level is intermediate. Most of the verbs are in the present or passé composé, and very few pronouns are used.
Your students will learn a lot of new Christmas vocabulary, and they're going to have a great time with this activity! Everything is written in French only.
Included:
- Lesson plan
- Written comprehension questions
- Audio recording of comprehension questions
- Written text of the skit

55 Common French Expressions
Learning common French expressions is a great way to spice up conversations, increase vocabulary, and sound more French. The grammar in these expressions is varied, so this resource is fine for all levels (even beginners). Many of these expressions are informal or familiar, and if that is the case it's indicated on the card. However, none of the expressions are inappropriate or vulgar. Click here for a set of 100 different common French expressions.
The idea is to not worry about WHY things are said this way in French, but instead to encourage our students to accept it and memorize these 55 short expressions, interjections, and sentence starters. My students have a lot of fun using these, and I love hearing them having fun with French!
In addition to the set of cards, you get video and audio versions. All of the words and expressions are spoken slowly, and students are given time to repeat them aloud. English translations are included for all 55 expressions on the video recording. Students will notice that the English versions are almost never direct translations, which is interesting to note! An audio recording is included so you can share this to have your students practice almost anywhere (even on the way to school)!
Included:
How to use the set of practice cards:
Have students print and cut out the set of 55 cards, and hook them together with a ring. Expressions are written in French at the top, and in English at the bottom. As they practice and master these expressions by using the video and audio recordings, they can test themselves frequently with the stack of cards. When they feel confident with a word or expression, they can take a pair of scissors and CUT OFF THE ENGLISH translation on the dotted line. They'll eventually have a handy set of French only cards to pull out any time they'd like to review.

Advanced French Reflexive Verbs Challenge Task Cards Activity

Advanced French Reflexive Verbs - 40 Practice Cards - Present - Past - Future
This resource includes 40 practice cards to help your students learn and master how to use 40 different French reflexive and reciprocal verbs in the present tense, passé composé, and futur proche. This set of cards is more advanced than my beginner level set because many of the verbs used are idiomatic, and special grammar rules apply to many of the cards in the passé composé (body parts, faire causative, indirect objects). This resource is an excellent way to challenge your more advanced students who have already learned how to use basic reflexive verbs. Each card displays a verb in the infinitive that students should conjugate in the 3 tenses. This resource is included in my reflexive verbs bundle.
The answer key includes the present tense, the passé composé, and the futur proche.
