Get your students more motivated in class with puntos. Using these tickets with “puntos” is a great classroom management system when you want your class follow directions. I give “puntos” to my classes when students participate, use their Spanish in full sentences or when transitions are good, taking advantage of every minute that we have. At the end of each day or week we count how many points we have and if we have certain amount, we can celebrate with a “fiesta”, movie or games.

Are you looking to improve student comprehension and proficiency in French?  This French comprehensible input short story is a fun sample of what can be done with French CI instruction.  It is a sampler from the series of French CI units, available for level 1 and level 2 French.

This short story is for French learners who are just starting their studies. Very simple language with lots of repetition - but the story itself is interesting enough to hold their attention. It is the unit story that finishes unit 1 of the CI unit series - each unit uses comprehensible input to give your students a base of frequently used vocabulary words with some basic structures.  At the end of the unit, students should be able to easily read and understand the story - and with practice, they can retell the story as well.  

These units are especially helpful if you want to use CI but:

• You are required to use a district textbook
• You need a little bit of structure as you get your feet wet with comprehensible input
• You are required to give a district final, but want to use CI to teach your classes

The units are complete units with vocabulary and grammar in context - they cover the same material as the standard textbook programs, only with a more comprehensible input focus.

This free story can be used as a standalone activity as early as the first semester of French.

This is a comprehensive poster on The Order of Operations. It comes with FOUR VERSIONS of the same poster formulated to PEMDAS, PEDMAS, BODMAS and BIDMAS. One thing that we find a lot of guided posters on this subject lack is an explanation of WHY there is an Order of Operations, and why it is in that order. We hope that this poster will change that, and give learners a deeper understanding of why The Order of Operations are so important as well as explaining the order itself. A fun drill activity to teach 30 irregular verbs. FUN AND DRILL IN ONE SENTENCE??!! She is crazy, you may think. Well, I kid you not, but kids (and grown-ups) actually really love it. Their joy when they finally work it out is real.

It's LOW PREP and very easy to set up. Simply cut up the puzzle pieces and let your pupils put them back together. The resulting shape is that of a hexagon. Students need to match the infinitive with the correct picture. The picture rhymes with the past simple and past participle form. It can be quite challenging so it's best used as a team activity. You can even turn it into a competition. Just print out a few copies and see which team completes the puzzle first. It's also great as an extra activity for those of your students who always finish first.

I use this puzzle in my EFL classes but I'm sure it would also work great in speech therapy sessions.

PRO TIP: They should start by picking a verb. They look for the rhyme while CHANTING the 3 forms of the verb. They do one verb at a time until they complete the whole puzzle.
