By Epsilon Math Craft & Special Education

Introduce "Graphing Ordered pairs in the Coordinate grid" to your students and make this lesson incredibly easy with this January winter-themed bundle.

What You get:

6 activities to help your students/kids wrap their heads around ordered pairs in the first quadrant coordinate plane, and to practice naming and plotting points on a grid.

Details and skills :

  • Page 1: Introduce a lesson on graphing coordinates using a Map Grid skills learned in 2nd & 3rd grade. Students will use letters and numbers to locate each winter-themed object and record the coordinates.

  • Page 2: Practice decoding the coordinates for different winter objects on a first-quadrant coordinate plane.

  • Pages 3 & 4: Practice identifying coordinate pairs on a graph using snowflakes as points. The worksheet will also help your little learners practice visual discrimination skills, visual perception, and scanning.

  • Page 5: Plot a number of coordinates to find a secret message. This can help motivate your students to try their best to get the message right by plotting the coordinates correctly and accurately.

  • Page 6: Practice graphing skills by finding the ordered pairs of each winter object located on a "Snow Day" image drawn as a coordinate plane. This is also great to learn some useful winter vocabulary.

This bundle is:

  • Winter-themed: Students are much more likely to enjoy a math activity if it is either hands-on or visually appealing!

Learn and practice how to solve natural log equations with this complete lesson. In this print and go lesson, you can print all 7 pages out and give it out as a packet to start the topic. Have them start off completing the word search with vocabulary associated with natural log functions. Go through the guided notes with the natural log equations examples with them (or they can do it alone with the guidance of the notes). Then have them work with a partner to complete the partner problems. After that they will complete the independent practice to see what they understand on their own. You can assign them the HW for the night. The next day they can summarize what they learned, reflect on what was challenging and what was not and then rate themselves on a scale of 1-4 to self assess how well they understood solving natural log equations.

TOPICS:

- Condensing Natural Logs

- Expanding Natural Logs

- Soling Natural Log Equations

ANSWER KEY INCLUDED.

WHAT YOU GET:

>> DO NOW: Students will complete a short word search to familiarize themselves with the vocabulary associated with natural logs. They will fill in a chart reflecting on words they have heard of and have not.

>> GUIDED NOTES: You can go through the vocabulary, guided notes and 4 guided examples with your students.

>>PARTNER PROBLEMS: They will each complete 5 problems each and then check each others problems to reinforce the concepts of natural logs.

>>INDEPENDENT PROBLEMS: Students will then work alone to see how well they understand how to solve natural log equations on their own without the help of their partner and complete 10 problems.

>>HW: Students will complete 6 practice problems to practice solving natural log equations

>>SUMMARIZE, REFLECT, ASSESS: Students will summarize the lesson, reflect on the challenges they had and then self assess from 1-4 to determine how well they understood how to solve natural log equations.
