Directions

Rolling the Die:

  • Students roll a six-sided die to determine which nonsense word they will read.
  • Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.

Reading the nonsense word:

  • Students match the number rolled with the corresponding word on their worksheet.
  • Students read the word out loud clearly and fluently.
  • Students should focus on pronouncing each word correctly and using appropriate expressions.

Marking Progress:

  • Once students read a word, they should highlight or color the box. They could also cover it with a counter or place marker etc.
  • If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new word.
  • Students continue rolling and reading until they have completed all the words on their worksheets.
