French Verb MANQUER À - Practice Review Cards + Lesson Plan

By Love Learning Languages - French Resources

French Verb MANQUER À - Comprehensive Lesson Plan

Do your students feel very confused when trying to use the verb manquer to mean that they miss a person, place, or a thing? It's only natural for English speakers to feel confused as the entire construction is different. In this lesson they will learn some clever tricks to help them nail this confusing verb! Have a look at the preview to see everything that is included in this comprehensive lesson.

➯ STEP 1: Download and print the 7 page lesson guide with plenty of space for taking notes.

➯ STEP 2: Have students watch my 15 minute video lesson or teach the lesson yourself.

➯ STEP 3: Complete a challenging crossword puzzle using manquer à.

➯ STEP 4: Unscramble the French words to form sentences that translate to the English equivalents.

➯ STEP 5: Now that they've watched the lesson, taken notes on their study guides, completed a challenging crossword puzzle, done a scrambled sentences worksheet, they still need more practice! Use your set of 65 cards in 3 tenses that will remind them to turn off their English brains, and put on their French ones!

➯ STEP 6: Download the practice chart and have students work individually or with a partner to fill in the boxes with French translations of English sentences (from our English brains). Once they've filled it out and checked their answers, they fold the paper down the center on the dotted line and use it to practice until this new skill sticks in their brains.
