You may disagree with your classmates’ opinions but do so respectfully. (I typically go over each example with students and discuss the impact of the words or phrases to uncover the deeper meaning. Ask questions such as, "what is being compared?" or "what can the reader visualize?")
*As an optional follow-up activity, use my No-Prep Figurative Language Short Passage Set resource to assess individual understanding, homework, or assessment!

Writing a biography is a fun and interesting project for your students. This provides them with the opportunity to learn about someone that interests them and share it with their peers! This packet includes information to share with your students about what a biography is, why do we write a biography, and rules to follow when writing a biography. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write a biography and the steps that are taken to add onto a biography to be sure it includes a beginning, middle and end. On the last few pages, it includes a template to help students come up with possible story ideas, add onto each paragraph they will include in their biography, and a reference sheet. Space to write a rough draft as well as a final draft is included.
