Painting Art: Fish Aquariums. Fall/Autumn.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Fish Aquarium Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I made 4 unique pre-cut fish aquarium stencils that students could choose from and trace on large 18 x 24-inch paper. Students were asked to brainstorm ideas for the background, and what the Fish Aquarium could be sitting on. Students were given lots of fish/aquarium life photos as a resource to draw from. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Insect Jar Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked the students to create a couple sketches of what their insect jar would look like. Next, I asked the students to re-draw their sketch on a Final Copy paper and outline it with a black sharpie marker. Students spent 1-2 class periods coloring (w/colored pencils) the insects and other objects inside their jar, plus, the background around the jar. Students used a transparent blue watercolor to paint the inside of their insect jar. All finished! I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

This creative Picasso Self Portraits Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to sketch themselves in a Picasso-inspired style-abstract. Students exaggerated their facial features and placed them in different areas on their face. Students were asked to outline their artwork with a black sharpie marker. Students used watercolor paint to add vibrant, bold colors to their beautiful artwork. Contrast was a focus. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

This creative Salvador Dali Melting Clock Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to practice drawing melting clocks. Next, I taught students how to draw a Dali-melting clock. I demonstrated how to draw a melting clock with numbers, step-by-step. Students created their own melting clock drawing on Final Copy Paper. Students outlined and colored their artwork. Younger grades used crayons. Older grades used oil pastels. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

This creative Line Movement Painting Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to draw 5-10 lines with different movements. After drawing these lines, students outlined them with a crayon. Students painted each section with a different color of watercolor paints. This assignment is an excellent opportunity for students to get better with their painting skills. Students are responsible for two separate artworks for this assignment. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Lily Pond Scene, Monet-inspired was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. It is best to use 18 x 24 white paper for this unit, since this will be a rather large artwork. This unit should last 4-(50 minute) class periods. I allowed the use of crayon for everything except the lily pond. I allowed the use of watercolor paint for the lily pond. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Observational Pumpkin Drawing was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I placed several plastic pumpkins and gourds at each set of tables for students to look at and draw. Students practiced drawing/coloring pumpkins and gourds in their sketchbooks or on small paper first. Next, students started a Final Copy drawing of one observational pumpkin and one gourd on 11 x 17-inch paper (horizontal). Students used oil pastels and watercolor paint. Plan to do this unit during the fall, between Halloween and Thanksgiving. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

This creative Autumn Tree Collage: Art Unit was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on the big screen. For this assignment, I asked students to make an Autumn Tree Collage celebrating the joy of the Fall season. Students get to choose three of their favorite leaf colors to work with. Students choose where the leaves will be on the branches, falling, blowing around, etc. Students learned cutting, gluing, and placing (overlapping) skills during this 2-to-3-Day Art Unit. Students shared their artworks on display inside the Art Gallery. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy!

Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to brainstorm in their sketchbook first. Students were asked to choose a Spooky Structure: school, hotel, house, church, etc. Students learned how to use a ruler and yardstick for measurements. Once the drawing was on Final Copy Paper, students may color and paint with the appropriate art materials. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

For this assignment, I asked the students to create two separate artworks: a drawing (colored in), and a collage artwork. Students spent two days drawing and coloring a flowerpot artwork. Students spent another two days creating a flowerpot collage artwork that showed similarities in color and patterns used to their drawing artwork. We were able to hang both artworks in the art gallery side-by-side each other to show the comparisons. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked students to use their pointer finger (no paint brush) to create the flower pedals. Students filled the paper with fingerprint flowers for one class period. During the second-class period, students used crayons and color markers to draw stems, leaves, grass, insects, and other things in their scene. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Field of Flowers Scene was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I asked the students to start right on a 18x24-inch Final Copy Paper. Students were asked to draw 15-30 large flowers all over their paper. Students were allowed to paint the flowers with any colors they wanted. When the artwork was dry students outlined all the flowers with a black sharpie marker. Some collage skills were added to the assignment at the end of the unit when students needed to cut/glue down strips of construction paper to the bottom of the Final Copy Field of Flowers, to look like fence posts. Need an awesome Art Unit? I have just the thing for you! This creative Piet Mondrian Circle artwork was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. For this assignment, I did a demo and taught the class how to trace lids/containers and how to use a ruler/yardstick. Measurement was a strong focus of the lesson. Students traced a large lid/container on Final Copy paper. Students used a ruler/yardstick to make straight lines: vertical, horizontal, and diagonal. Students made some lines thin and some lines very thick. Students traced everything with a black sharpie marker. Students used crayons, colored pencils, or colored sharpies to color their Piet Mondrian Design. I hope you and your kiddos love this! Enjoy.

Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. *NOTE: this is a yearly event; it will take most of a full school year for any student to complete all 30 gaming badges…and that’s a good thing! *Students may try for any badge, in any order, however, students will want to start working on gaining easy gaming badges first, before trying to get the harder ones done. *Once students accomplish the criteria for a certain badge, either the teacher or the student may take colored pencils (only) to color the accomplished badge, so it looks similar to the completed version. *Move on to completing another great gaming badge. Students traced their arm/hands, traced large lids, and used rulers and yardsticks to create a unique design. Students were asked to use either warm colors in their arm/hand, and cool colors in the background, OR vice versa. Students used watercolor paints to color their entire artwork.
