By Primary Piglets
Addition Facts Race to Win Game; SUPERHERO Set includes many versions of the "Race to Win" or also called "Race to 3" game. This game is great for math stations/centers. My students LOVE this station. I love that they get addition fact fluency practice throughout the year, the more they play the better they learn their facts!

This is a partner game (I usually put it in one of my math stations, and change it out with different holiday versions). Taking turns the students roll 2 die, add the sum, color in a box on their game sheet. Students can also DAB IT with a bingo dauber if you choose. The first one to capture 3 pictures wins! All games are the same Game, just with different pictures to capture. This allows you to change out the games often throughout the month and keep things fresh. Spring Addition & Subtraction Facts MEGA BUNDLE!
IDEAS FOR USE:
•This is a FAVORITE of my class no matter what time of year (they love a good competition) and a quick and easy practice so they don’t forget their addition facts. Early in the year I often use dice with dots on them, so those that need to still count the dots can do so. Later in the year I switch out the dice for number cubes. Or you can use one of each.
•Run a set in BLACK & WHITE and place in a math center/station bucket. Place some dice in the basket for quick access. Students each need a different colored crayon.
•DAB IT – This can easily be played with a Bingo Dauber, each student chooses their own color.
•COLORED LAMINATED COPIES – I tried to make these colorful but yet not to use too much ink. The colorful games are so enticing and you don’t have to continue to make copies. Place a set of laminated game boards in a math center/station. Or, run on cardstock for thickness and slide into a plastic sleeve. Add some dice. Students can use dry erase markers to X their boxes, circling the picture when they capture it. OR They can use 2 different colors of unifix cubes to fill in their spaces.

This set provides 6 different activities, however they each follow the same general rules, expectations, and idea. I use this with my kiddos that need practice turn taking, losing (students may lose a desired game piece), cooperation, following directions, matching and so much more. The games are easy in nature, however highly addictive for the competitive kids. This allows for opportunities with students in differing abilities.

Ice Cream
Rules (some differences in games - this example is the Fill the wagon rules).

French Remembrance Day Activity Pack-French Phonics Centres-Jour du Souvenir
By La trousse de Madame
French Jour du Souvenir Activity Pack:
Fun and engaging activity sheets to reinforce and explore French Phonics SOUNDS in the Kindergarten to Grade 3 French Immersion classroom. Students will love the intriguing graphics and have fun finding the target sounds, searching for Remembrance Day vocabulary, and building encoding and decoding skills with each activity. This activity aligns with the Science of Reading and blends well with all French programs across Canada and around the globe where French is being taught. Perfectly suits Son-au-graphe, Bien Lire, Aimer Lire, CBE French program, and Pratique Phonémique (all resources currently being used in Canadian French Immersion schools). Explore beginning phonics concepts with your students as they engage in fun and exciting Jour du Souvenir themed activities.
How to prepare this resource:
Prep for this activity DOES INCLUDE SOME TIME ON YOUR PART! Make a copy of each page, insert into clear pocket, dry erase pocket, or use as individual worksheets and watch as the giggles get started. My students LOVE these activities. I cannot make them fast enough.
Detailed instructions for each activity are set out at the top of each activity and could not be easier.
There is a little cutting and laminating involved with some activities but many use clear folders to make your job easier!
Perfect for a sub binder, emergency plans, or as a back up activity when you happen to have a few minutes to spare. A great set to have on hand as an extra centre activity at Remembrance Day/Veteran's Day time. Your K-3 Immersion students will love them!
When to use this resource in the classroom:
These activity sheets are Jour du Souvenir themed and can be used for the entire month of November and even into the week following Halloween. Students love using them and they can be helpful for follow-up assessment.
I hope your students enjoy learning their vowel sounds and exploring phonemic awareness with a Remembrance Day Theme!

My board has moved toward a strong literacy/phonics focus in Gr. 1/2. This resource was great because it fit in so perfectly with what students had experienced in English and what I needed to teacher. Loved it.
Julie G. said:
***** Extremely satisfied
This has been a fun way for students to review their letters. I love that each page gives students an opportunity to write the letter, find the letter and find the sounds. Merci!
What grade level:
I personally use these texts with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. I feel confident that students from Kindergarten to Grade Three will find these most useful and teachers can come back to the texts with any students who may be experiencing challenges in their French reading skills. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to read and write at the Junior level.
