H-Insertion FREEBIE - Speech Therapy - Articulation - Initial Sound Production
By The SLP Curriculum
This resource was created in order to help Speech Language Pathologists target initial phonemes at the word level.
The h-insertion trick can be an extremely helpful strategy to use when children are stuck at the isolation level of a sound. By producing /h/ after the initial sound, the child continues their air flow, making it easier to produce the following vowel. This helps them to eliminate the prior habit of producing the incorrect sound.
Find the Full H-Insertion Resource Here!
If you haven't tried /h/-insertion, download this FREEBIE and see it work it's magic!

BOOM CARDS™ Digital Task Cards Three-part Elkonin Boxes Phonemic Awareness
By Tech for Teaching
⭐️ PHONOLOGICAL ⭐️ AWARENESS PHONEMIC ⭐️ AWARENESS ELKONIN BOXES ⭐️
⭐️This deck of 30 BOOM CARDS™ is intended to be used for direct instruction of phonemic awareness either in person or remotely. Large colorful pictures will increase student interest while three-dimensional drag-and-drop dots are used to visually demonstrate the process of breaking CVC words into individual phonemes.
⭐️Words included are:
rat, jet, pig, pop, sun, map, bed, hot, fin, bus, fan, web, pit, jog, gum
⭐️Phonemic awareness, or the ability to manipulate individual sounds or phonemes within words, is a critical skill for children to learn prior to decoding and spelling. Being able to successfully identify, substitute, and delete phonemes in words is a predictor of future reading success. Because phonemic awareness involves the sounds or phonemes in words, it does not include or require knowledge of alphabetic characters.
⭐️This product includes:
A link to access 30 Digital Task Cards on the BOOM Learning Website for practicing the phonemic awareness skill of segmenting words into sounds.
⭐️If you enjoyed using this resource, please leave feedback. Leaving feedback earns you points toward FREE TeachShare purchases and it is wonderful to hear from fellow teachers.
⭐️Check out the other phonemic awareness activities in my store.
