Place value is a necessary skills for students to learn, so why not make it fun and engaging! Activity 1: Place Value Sheets (pp 2-20): Each page focuses on numbers in ascending order (pp 2-10). Starting at 10 and working their way up to 99. Pages include mixed practice as well (pp 11-20). Students can use dry erase markers to fill in the answers on the cards and they can be wiped clean in for repeated use! Thanksgiving Turkey Place Value: 2 Digit Tens And Ones

This Thanksgiving Place Value Matching Cards set is a fun and interactive way for students to practice place value skills with a festive holiday theme!

Prepare the Cards:

Print and cut out the Thanksgiving Place Value Matching Cards. You’ll have two sets of cards: Turkey Cards with numbers and Base-Ten Block Cards showing tens and ones.

For durability, consider laminating the cards, especially if using them multiple times or in centers.

Setup the game:

Shuffle and lay out both sets of cards face-up or face-down on a table, depending on the level of challenge you’d like.

How to Play:

Students will look at a Turkey Card with a number (e.g., 37) and find the matching Base-Ten Block Card that represents that number (e.g., 3 tens and 7 ones).

2 Digit Addition No Regrouping with Base 10 Blocks for Google Slides

This resource includes 38 interactive Google slides, 4 printable worksheets, and Easel Ready Activity for students to practice adding double digit numbers without regrouping. This math center uses the place value strategy of base 10 blocks to practice solving addition problems with 2 digit addends up to 100. 

The interactive slides allow students to drag moveable base-10 blocks into the tens and ones place to model the addition problem. 

The resource also includes a blank worksheet template as well as a blank slides template to create additional problems for your students!

The slides and worksheets are divided into two differentiated levels. The first resource allows students to practice adding double digit numbers with sums up to 50 and the second resource allows students to practice adding double digit numbers with sums from 50-100. Each slideshow contains a video link that models how to add double digit numbers using base-10 blocks. 

This resource can be used in Google Classroom for math centers, independent practice, distance learning, or for small group mini-lesson. The Montessori Number Cards introduce children to the decimal system. Children read and build large numbers and develop an understanding of the written numerical symbols for each category of the decimal system (i.e. units, tens, hundreds, thousands). This resource includes a printable version of the large number cards, the small number cards, a bonus set of zero cards which are helpful when making numbers that include zeros, and a bonus set of cards to use when presenting the association between the Golden Beads and the numerals for 1, 10, 100, and 1000.

Snowman Math Activity

This Winter Math Activity – Making 10 Bead Stair Extension Game combines your students' love of snowmen with a fun way to practice math. This activity is perfect for the day before winter break, day after Christmas break, or any time you want to add a little winter fun!

Perfect for Montessori and lower elementary classrooms, this game brings the wintery outdoors inside and uses the colored bead stair to teach your students the combinations of numbers – 1-9 – which make ten. This a great way not only to practice math, but also to help your students better develop their skill in writing equations.
