Practice the Kinder INTO READING program Sight Words of HMH easily and with no prep.

Worksheets, ready to be used, for the frequently used words of the week from HMH's Kindergarten Into Reading program. They can be used as homework or even as a center.

Upon acquiring this resource, you will receive 1 PDF file of 14 pages to work on the 4 words of the first module. Each word has its front page, and there are two different options for the back of the page. One option is to practice writing the week's words by tracing and copying the word (pages 11 to 14), while the second option is to try to formulate sentences and be creative with the word of the day, as half of the sheet is left blank to let the student creatively draw the word or illustrate the sentences they wrote above (pages 7 to 10).

This activity works with the 4 frequently used words from module 1 of the HMH Kindergarten program. Modules 2 through 3 consist of 12 words each, and Modules 4 to 9 consist of 16 words each 3 words. Every module is 4 weeks long and the program consists of 9 modules (36 weeks).

Each word will be worked on in 9 different ways:

• Reading the word, its sounds, and syllables.
• Tracing the letters that make up the word.
• Searching for the word among other frequently used words.
• Fill in the blocks with each of the letters of the word.
• Sort the letter cards to form the word.
• Count the number of syllables in the word.
• Make the word of the day unique using colored pencils.
• Write sentences with the word or words you are working on.
• Calligraphy

There's also space provided for creative expression with colored pencils.

If the option of creating sentences on the back, pages 7 to 10, is chosen, it would be advisable not to cut out the letters from the front until these sentences are completed so that they continue to have the help shown at the bottom of the page on how to write each word.

Worksheets, ready to be used, for the frequently used words of the week from HMH's Kindergarten Into Reading program. They can be used as homework or even as a center.

Upon acquiring this resource, you will receive 1 PDF file of 22 pages to work on the 12 words of Module 2. Each word has its front page, and there are two different options for the back of the page. One option is to practice writing the week's words by tracing and copying the word (pages 19 to 22), while the second option is to try to formulate sentences and be creative with the word of the day, as half of the sheet is left blank to let the student creatively draw the word or illustrate the sentences they wrote above (pages 15 to 18).

This activity works with the 12 frequently used words from module 2 of the HMH Kindergarten program. Module 1 has only 4 words. Modules 2 through 3 consist of 12 words each, and Modules 4 to 9 consist of 16 words each. Every module is 4 weeks long and the program consists of 9 modules (36 weeks).

How to Play:

The game commences with all cards face down, and players take turns flipping over two cards. When a pair of cards display the same word, the players must write it on their recording sheet and retain the cards. If the cards don't match, they are turned face down again. The player with the most cards when all cards have been collected wins!

• Engage in Memory Games with High-Frequency Words each week for varied and dynamic language practice.
• Reinforce word retention by combining different weeks of the same module, culminating in a comprehensive understanding of the sight words.
• These versatile cards offer boundless opportunities for interactive learning experiences. For example, you can print the cards of multiple weeks or even modules once for each table or group of students, with all cards face-up. Challenge them to identify the words you announce before other groups do. The first group to find the word keeps the card, writes it on the recording sheet, and emerges as the winner with the most cards at the end!
• Encourage active learning by allowing students to pick a card, write the word, and choose another card. This repetition strengthens word recognition and writing skills.
• Foster cooperative learning by pairing students. One student can pick a card and dictate the word to their partner, who will write it down. A collaborative approach through rote practice!
• For an added challenge, have one student in a pair pronounce the sounds of each letter in the word while their partner writes it down.

1. Printing Front and Back:

•Start by printing the front side of the cards.

•After printing the fronts, reload the printed sheets into the printer.

•Print the back design on the other side of the sheets.

2. Paper Choice:

•For added sturdiness, it's recommended to use thicker paper.

3. Lamination:

•Consider laminating the cards for increased durability.

4. Page Numbers:

•Module 5 front cards are on pages 8 to 11.

•Page 12 is designated for the back of the cards.

•Page 13 is designated for the recording sheets to write down the pairs of words you create during the game.

5. Cutting Guidelines:

•Use the cutting guides on the back of the sheets to cut the cards with corners.

•Alternatively, you can cut them without corners, following the border of the images.

•Cutting without corners (rounded corners) takes more time but may result in longer-lasting cards.
