More Information On Each Item:

The Alphabet Play-doh Mats have both Uppercase and lowercase Letters. This activity is great for not only hands on learning through play but also to help your students practice forming each letter of the alphabet. Each play-doh mat also has a picture of an item that starts with that letter.

The Number Play-doh mats also have ten frames on them. This helps your students practice counting and one-to-one correspondence.

The Alphabet book is great for your literacy center and writing practice. Each page has both the Uppercase and lowercase letter on it. The students color, trace, and then practice writing each Uppercase and lowercase letter of the alphabet.

The Matching Game has Uppercase and lowercase letter matching practice as well as number and shape cards. The number cards have a matching card with the corresponding number of apple seeds on each one. This helps students practice counting and one-to-one correspondence.

The letter tracing cards are also another great way for your students to practice writing each Uppercase and lowercase letter as well as numbers 1-10.

The Clothes Pin Clip task cards are a great fall-themed learning activity. There are both pumpkin-themed letter cards as well as number cards.

Each letter task card has an Uppercase letter on the pumpkin as well as #3 different lowercase letters on the right side of the card to choose from. Your students will then clip a clothespin on the correct lowercase letter that matches the letter on the pumpkin. This is a great fine motor activity as well as a great way to practice matching Uppercase and lowercase letters together. Each number task card has a different amount of pumpkins from 1-10 on it. The students will count how many pumpkins are on each card and then attach a clothespin to the matching number on the right.

"A Christmas Carol" Vocabulary: Students will find the given words within the novel "A Christmas Carol" and record the sentence in which the word can be found. I had the students complete these sheets after reading the section of the book.

Creative activity: Students participate in an activity where they will write and illustrate their stories of Christmas past, present, and yet to come, in a way that is similar to what happens to Scrooge in the novel.

Students loved sharing their stories and hearing the hopes their classmates have for their futures.

As a culminating activity: Students read or watch A Christmas Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, my students read A Christmas Carol and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, for an engaging activities before the holiday. • Bradbury FAQs: In the first task, students must complete a crossword puzzle with questions about Ray Bradbury. Once complete, they must unscramble circled boxes to reveal the first code.
• Write Every Day: Did you know that Ray Bradbury wrote every single day since he was 12 years old? In the second task, students must find 25 titles of short stories, novels, and screenplays that Bradbury wrote in a word search. Remaining letters will form the second code.
• Extra! Extra! Read All About it!: In the third task, students must match fictional newspaper headlines with the short story by Bradbury that they represent. This task is in the form of a mat puzzle and the code is revealed when students have matched all short stories correctly.
• If Only We Had Taller Been: In the fourth task, students must perform a close reading of one of Bradbury's most famous poems, If Only We Had Taller Been. He read this poem in 1971 the day before the Space Probe Mariner 9 landed on Mars. The letters of the multiple choice questions about the poem form the fourth code. *Please note that the text of the poem cannot be included in this resource due to copyright restrictions.*

This activity features a biographical escape room for one of the most beloved authors of all time, Jane Austen. It is the perfect way to introduce, re-introduce, or review the author with your students in an engaging and meaningful way.

This meticulously-crafted resource features all of the materials you need to conduct a full-length escape room on the life and works of Jane Austen. Planning an escape room may seem like quite the daunting task, but this product provides everything from the basics and set-up instructions to signs and answer keys so that yours runs smoothly from start to finish. The activity involves movement, energy, creative thinking and most of all, collaboration. Your students will be having so much fun that they won’t even realize the massive knowledge they will gain about Jane Austen while playing this game!

How does it work?

The ghost of Jane Austen has risen from the grave with a dire warning. She is upset because she believes that people have become too concerned with money and looks and have forgotten the true meaning of love. She will not allow anyone to exit the room until everyone learns more about her, her novels, and the lessons she desires to instill upon us all.

• Austen FAQs: In the first task, students must complete a crossword puzzle with questions about Jane Austen's life. Once complete, they must unscramble circled boxes to reveal the first code.
• Inspired by Jane: Due to her sharp social commentary and the timelessness of her writing, Jane Austen’s works have been adapted and reimagined into countless novels, films, and television shows. Complete the word search of just 19 of these adaptations. Remaining letters form the second code.
• Extra! Extra! Read All About it!: In the third task, students must match fictional newspaper headlines with the novel by Austen that they represent. This task is in the form of a mat puzzle and the code is revealed when students have matched all short stories correctly.
• Austen's 7 Heroines: In the fourth task, students will match each of Austen's renowned female protagonists in the left column with her description on the right. Letters not intersected by the lines for the fourth code.
• Jig Saw Quote: In the final task, students must assemble a jig saw puzzle with a notable Jane Austen quote.
