This "Thin Slicing" activity on comparing linear functions gets your 8th grade students thinking about linear functions. These progressively challenging task cards start students with simple proportional relationships and progress up to writing a linear function from only two ordered pairs, graphs with differently scaled axes, and tables with minimal information.
