Less than $5 Middle School en Français Assessment (by price, high to low)

I was getting frustrated trying to find texts to support my biodiversity unit, and was finding my students could truly only find pertinent, engaging information by researching. What I had at my disposition was outdated; or didn't particularly touch on diversity, or was overly focused on specific species of animals... It simply wasn't cutting it. I wanted to teach with a cross-curricular approach and integrate biodiversity-themed readings in with my language arts program. Ta-Da!

These texts can also be used as mentor texts when teaching your informative or research report unit; and they can also be used as guided readings with small groups, or as a whole group choral reading. No more finding enough copies of books for your crew: simply print and go.

This 40-page resource is the biodiversity informative text holy grail and contains 13 different texts for students to explore and discover topics relating to diversity. The vocabulary is perfectly at the level of my 5th and 6th graders, and many texts come accompanied by diagrams, text boxes, images and fun details to keep them engaged and interested in the material. Each of them come with ample comprehension questions (multiple choice, true or false, short answer, long answer - and questions with varying levels of complexity) as well as a thorough and detailed answer key providing you with easy assessment.

Looking for a fun, engaging, no prep way for your students to practice conjugating 35 common regular French ER verbs in the conditional? They're really going to enjoy making verb chains! This is a great literacy center or independent work activity. They'll love hanging them up around the classroom! • Each verb page has ten strips to cut out.
• The first strip is for the student's name.
• The next nine strips are for conjugating the indicated verb with JE - TU - IL - ELLE - ON - NOUS - VOUS - ILS - ELLES.

STEP 1 - Students begin by filling in the blanks to add the correct conditional endings. The number of letters needed for the endings is indicated by the number of blanks provided to help students while learning or reviewing conjugations.

French paired speaking activity - La nourriture - French food 5 worksheets for paired speaking activities when teaching LA NOURRITURE and French food vocabulary. Each worksheet displays twelve images of common foods. Students describe an image to partners using short, descriptive sentences. Great activity for putting words together using new vocabulary and simple verb conjugations. Suggestions on how to begin sentences are included in French at the bottom of each page. If you're struggling to find an original and engaging activity for your beginner French students to practice and review regular ER verbs, you are going to love these listening comprehension and writing activities in the present tense. Peek at the preview for a closer look at these fun storyboard activities which also exist for IR verbs, RE verbs, and in a money saving bundle!

• Listen to the 15 pre-recorded present tense sentences being read
• Draw what you hear on the student response sheet provided
• Write the infinitive form of the verb being used in the sentence

These activities can be used for listening comprehension and written production at the same time, instructions included.

If your students have access to colored pencils you may choose to use the recordings that indicate which color they should use to draw and write. The color they should use is clearly indicated in French at the beginning or appropriate time in the reading of the sentence.

A recording without the use of colors is also included.

Some students will say they can’t draw, but stick figures should be encouraged! None of the sentences represent a real drawing challenge.

Noël - One week French reading program for Christmas

Theme: Quand je me réveille le matin de Noël...

This one-week French reading comprehension program is suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate level primary or secondary levels. This program will have your students reading every day of the week, and is perfect for core or French immersion. These reading activities are specifically meant to be used along with my my Christmas themed vocabulary and writing programs which use a lot of the same words. The reading activities in this program include five separate reading comprehension activities for Monday through Friday. These reading worksheets are a great way to practice new themed vocabulary, see sight words in action, and to improve overall comprehension. Each worksheet includes a paragraph that should be read three times, once for each of the three questions that follow. Students check off the circled numbers each time they read the text and then they answer the corresponding questions.

Are you looking for a French dictée - dictation exercise for the passé composé with être for your beginner level students? Do you struggle to find themed dictées that match beginner level French grammar?

Dictées are great activities for building listening comprehension and writing skills. This is a beginner level French dictée with a passé composé theme.

Included:

• Nine sentences (audio and video presentations)
• Theme - La montagne
• Basic grammar
• Passé composé - partir, aller, arriver, monter, descendre, passer, tomber, rentrer, se reposer
• Dormir is used once (avoir helping verb)
• Pronoun Y is used once
• Infinitives - chercher, déposer, découvrir, prendre, dire, faire
• Definite, indefinite, and partitive articles

➯ Video presentation of the dictée. Watch me and listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. Many non-natives find it makes the listening comprehension part of dictation exercises more manageable to see the speaker's mouth. Once I've finished reading the dictation, I will present each written sentence in French along with the English translation. Once we've gone through all of the sentences and students have checked their work, I will present the complete text in paragraph form on the screen. At that time, we can slowly read through the complete text together so they can see how the separate sentences actually form a short story.

➯ Audio presentation of the dictée. Listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. This version of the exercise will be more challenging as students will not see the speaker's mouth.
