Task cards can be done as a group when projected onto the board, individually, set aside for fast finishers or used for morning work.

October Life Skills Morning Work

There are a total of 44 Character Trait Cards which all include a variety of relatable and realistic scenarios for students to discuss and reflect upon. These scenarios explore a number of Character Traits in which the student is encouraged to identify and record.

This is a great exercise to also explore con-current Character Traits in action where two or more traits exist together and not in isolation to each other. These form a core sense of self and personality. These are great cards to explore character development, social awareness, emotional literacy, empathy, compassion and understanding.

The student may require some reflective questioning should they need prompting as to the Character Traits that are in action. Each card includes visual representations of the character traits to support understanding, discussion and reflection.

This SEL lesson includes 52 scenario and reflection cards which explores key foundation life skills. In addition, a social narrative included about a girl named Lily who goes on many adventures, learning and using key life skills along the way.

Teaching children life skills such as stranger danger, safety around water, and road safety is important because it helps equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe in potentially dangerous situations. These skills can help reduce the risk of accidents and injuries and can help children feel more confident and in control of their surroundings.
