My students always need a variety of ways to practice their multiplication facts. These sheets were designed to give students the opportunity to skip count horizontally and vertically as well as practice basic facts. This includes three sheets. The first sheet is 2, 5, and 10. The second sheet is 3, 4, and 6. The third sheet is 7, 8, and 9. All sheets have an answer key.

Solving equations worksheet.

There are 15 questions and comes with a modified and non-modified version.

The modified version guides students through the equation process one step at a time.

Level Ups are a fun way for your students to practice or review defining functions and comparing functions. Aligned to the common core standards, this Level Ups activity includes 5 differentiated tasks that increase in rigor. The task cards begin with pre-requisite skills involving identifying the slope and y-intercept of linear functions in different representations, then "level up" all the way to creating and comparing functions that are both linear and non-linear.

Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. This lesson works as a great way to review what is and is not a function, or as preparation for an upcoming assessment.

This activity includes:

-Suggested activity instructions (based on how I run this in my classroom).

-Five levels with 6 - 11 questions each.

-Complete answer keys for each level.

The Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract Approach is an effective teaching approach that helps to develop a deep and sustainable understanding of mathematics in students.

When integrated into your classroom it helps to build on your students existing understanding and making complex mathematical concepts accessible to all.

Concrete: refers to the 'doing' stage. Where students manipulate concrete materials to solve problems. This is the first stage of the approach or framework.

Pictorial: refers to the 'seeing' stage. Where students create visual presentations of the concrete objects that they have just used to model the problem. This allows students to make connections between the objects they have just used and the abstract pictures they have drawn.

Abstract: refers to the 'symbolic' stage. Where students use numbers and symbols to model a problem. This is the final stage to mastering a concept. Students will not move onto this stage if they do not have a solid understanding of the concrete and pictorial representations.

It is also important to go back and forth, continually practicing each stage to reinforce mathematical concepts.

What is a Surd? This is a surprisingly slippery topic. As a teacher or tutor, we might have an understanding of what one is, but there are a lot of loopholes, traps and exceptions. This poster helps! We have found in our research that explanations of Surds often omit certain pieces of important information in order to generate a simpler understanding, only for the student to be told that there are some exceptions to the rules.
