The following file contains 8 text-based questions that require students to infer, analyze, recall, predict, and support their answers. The directions state the students need to use text evidence to back up their answers. This set of questions pertains to chapters 9, 10, and 11 of The Giver. An answer key is included.

This 3-page document goes along with "Turkeys" by Bailey White, which is in the Pearson 6th grade yellow textbook that my district uses. There are 7 questions about Main Idea on the front, and a paragraph response on the back that requires students to use details and evidence from the text in their answer. I have included an example paragraph to use as a model.
