Halloween Number Play-doh Mats | Fall Learning Activities | Math Center
By Morgan Jeffries
Halloween Themed Number Play-doh Mats & Ten Frames
(Fall Activities)
This is a great fun fall-themed counting activity that helps introduce one-to-one correspondence to your students. I recommend laminating these for better durability and to be able to reuse them.
Your students can use play-doh, candy, (or any other item you would like to use) to form each number and then count the correct amount of items to show the number they formed.
Introduction to Abacus, Greater Than/Less Than|Comparing Numbers|More or Less
By Lynette Yung
In the activity, the pre-k and kindergarten students focus on comparing numbers and the abacus for numbers 0–9. Students will also practice writing “greater than” or “less than” to work on their fine motor skills.
This activity helps with number sense and solidifies the number relationships. Also encourages number order, like counting forward and counting backward.
In this activity, we are counting only from 0 to 9, because learning the abacus is only one column of the abacus. Abacus is easy to understand; it promotes tactile learning.
The abacus used has 1 bead on top and 4 beads on the bottom. This activity focuses on the top bead (has a value of 5) and the bottom beads (has a value of 1 for each bead).
All the bottom beads have a value of 1, and the top bead has a value of 5.
If you are curious about the wonders of abacus, you can check out my blog.

Apple Counting Book | Emergent Reader | Fall Math Activity | Mini Readers
By Morgan Jeffries
Apple Themed Counting Book - Emergent Reader:
This is such a fun fall themed counting activity. I would cut out and staple the apple tree counting book together beforehand.
There is #2 pages of colorful apples as well as black and white apples. You can have your student’s practice holding scissors and cut the apples out or if they are not ready for that step you can cut them out yourself as well. Once the apples are cut out they will read the sentence and then glue the correct amount of apples to each tree. There is a black and white apple tree book (that you can have your student’s color) as well as a colorful one as well depending on which one you would like to use.
At the end of either book the last page also has an area where they read how many apples should be on each line and then draw the correct amount of apples according to what the number says.

In this activity, we are subtracting numbers 5–9. This is contained in one column of the abacus and all the bottom beads. Abacus is easy to understand; it promotes tactile learning.

Independent Math Game: Multi Digit Addition, Adding Money | Candy Shopping Lists
By Jessica Renee Montessori - JRMontessori
How much will your trip to the candy store cost? Have fun with big dynamic addition questions. Practice exchanging and use any material you like (e.g. the Golden Beads, the Stamp Game, or the Dot Game) to discover the total. Remember to check the answer on the back!
Teachers, use these shopping cards on their own or with the matching candy store price tags to increase engagement with your Montessori Lower Elementary students.
The lists are divided into four levels of increasing difficulty. Currency symbols are NOT used so that the lists can be used by anyone in any country. Also note that the prices are not at all realistic as I had to represent a huge variety of numbers.
As always, click the PREVIEW button to see exactly what you'll get.
What's included:
1 PDF with teacher information (preparation and basic presentation suggestions)
1 PDF with 16 different shopping lists
1 PDF with blackline shopping lists (2 options)

Montessori Math Manipulatives: Make it Yourself Stamp Game (Low Ink Version)
By Jessica Renee Montessori - JRMontessori
This is an affordable and printable alternative to the traditional Montessori Stamp Game with a few amazing differences: 1) it includes stamps for 10,000; 100,000; and 1,000,000 2) the stamps can be double-sided so they will always be facing upwards and children won't have to deal with flipping them over 3) the stamps are slightly larger than the traditional stamps to make them easier for small fingers to manipulate. Also included, is 8 different options for place value labels that can go at the top of a child's work mat to help them stay organized.
I've designed the stamp file to be as practical and easy to prepare as possible. There are guidelines to help you cut and you only need to print as many copies as you need. Start with one copy and print more as your children move on to more complicated questions.
This is the low-ink version of these stamps, but I also have a full-ink version if you'd prefer something more colorful. Check it out!
Once you get these stamps prepared you can use them for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division questions. See my Stamp Game Operations Bundle for task cards.
