After learning about bats with the included nonfiction text, have your students write an opinion piece about whether they think bats are creepy or cool. Afterwards, will have fun making their cute little bats!

Designed as an extension for teaching "Adding Three Numbers" (CCSS.Math.Content.1.OA.B.3), this activity not only reviews adding three groups of numbers, but also enhances listening and sequencing skills, observational skills, and communication skills. It is very versatile! You can use is as a simple worksheet as a review of adding three numbers, as a quick craft, or take the time and create a glyph with your students reviewing what they like or don't like about the snow!
