Friendship Activities for Preschoolers

Are you looking for a fun and interactive way to teach your young learners about being a good friend? The friendship lesson and activities in this resource have been developed to get young learners thinking and discussing ways to be a good friend

The Friendship Activities for Preschoolers Included Are:

1. Detailed Lesson Plan: Suggested use for each product to create a fun-filled, interactive and thoughtful lesson that builds friendship skills. CASEL aligned.

2. A Funny Read Aloud PowerPoint Story – read aloud together as a group, highlight examples and share thoughts. Have fun while developing your friendship skills!

3. Sorting Activity: Is this a great way to be a friend? Yes OR No? Discuss and sort Ways to be a Good Friend. Use the discussion prompts to extend the discussion.

4. Worksheets: Color-in ways to be a good friend, draw & tell worksheets, draw & write worksheets, Cut & Paste worksheet. 

5. Gratitude Practice:

Show recognition and gratitude to our friends by sending them a thank you note.

6. Friendship Challenge: Set a classroom friendship challenge to get your students practicing some easy ways they can be a good friend in the classroom.

When a child completes one of these challenges, they color in the square.

Each child has until the end of the week to complete as many friendship challenges as possible.

6. Super Friend Awards – These awards can be given out when you notice someone showing the qualities of being a good friend.

7.  Letter Home to Families - Keep your families informed and involved in what is happening in this unit of study. Editable version included.

8. Added Practice: Finding your students need a little bit more concrete practice? I’ve included scenes for you to use to stimulate ideas around how we can be a good friend in the classroom and on the playground.
