Nonsense Word Fluency Practice and Games makes learning to read FUN!
What is a CVC word? Words like cat, hot, and hit are all Consonant Vowel Consonant words. Mastering nonsense word fluency for kindergarten students is a big step toward achieving reading fluency. These hands-on nonsense words with pictures can be used as a matching game, word sorts, or memory. They can be used in small groups or in centers with included nonsense word fluency worksheets.

Directions: Use these sheets to help students practice subitizing and array identification of objects. Subitizing is the ability to instantly and accurately recognize groups of objects between one and three items. Array identification refers to the mental counting of objects and can be assessed with arrays containing four to seven objects. These sheets should be flashed in front of a student for less than 1 second, and the student should be able to recognize the amount of objects.
