Make your own book template! Kids love writing their own stories. This is an easy to print document that students can put together themselves to make their own book. Working on vocabulary or spelling words? Have students copy them at the beginning of the book and then use them throughout the story. Have students share their own stories with others in the class to encourage reading skills. All you need to do is print out a copy for each student, and let their own imagination soar.

We all know that kindergarteners need explicit instruction on how to use basic school tools! We also know that kinders LOVE their bling! As you explicitly teach the rules for pencils, markers, scissors, etc. they get a badge to proudly display their achievement.

Print on yellow paper, hole punch the top and tie with yarn and you have an instant necklace they can proudly show off at school and home.

Great for pre-K or kindergarten back to school week!

This project is designed for students to create their own original artist/band and to market their newly formed artist(s). It is appropriate for middle school students (grad 6-8) and is always a crowd pleaser!

Students submit a band/artist portfolio which includes a profile about their artist/band, a concert poster, album cover art, and a jingle. The jingle can be performed using an instrumental track to a piece that they enjoy. Included are some examples of products that they could write a jingle about. A rubric for assessment purposes is included and you could even extend this project further by creating an art assessment piece for the album cover art and concert poster.

This assignment typically takes approximately 5-10 classes to complete, from introducing it to completing the final jingle performances. It is handy to have students to complete a rough copy of their work before submitting their good copy to ensure their best quality work is submitted.

Students can enhance their writing skills with the help of a design sheet while crafting heartfelt letters to friends or family members.

This is an activity for identifying 3 letter beginning blends SPL, STR, and SPR. There are multiple activities that you can do with your students with this product. I used it for identifying the blends but you could also have students create their own words that they know start with the blends. This is a create resource for displaying student work. This is a play script for Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'. It tells the story of a mean, old man named Ebenezer Scrooge, who runs a dark and miserable business. His workers are under-paid and over-worked, especially his assistant Bob Cratchett.

It is Christmas eve and his Bob asks for the day off to spend time with his family, and sick child – Tiny Tim. Scrooge almost refuses but decides to just dock his pay for the day. Then, that evening he gets a visit from his previous business partner – another miserable person called Jacob Marley.

Marley tells him he needs to change his ways or end up with the same fate as him; he tells him how he will be visited by three ghosts that night. The ghosts visit and show Scrooge various things that upset him enough to change his ways.

After the visits of the ghosts Scrooge wakes up on Christmas day a changed man and tries to put right all the wrongs he has caused over the previous decades!

This may be the most meaningful assignment you give to your students all year.

This product teaches students how to write a letter to a service member who is currently deployed overseas. It describes the importance of writing to our military and gives suggestions for what to say. I use this as an extra credit assignment and hold my students to high standards about the content of their letters. It is incredibly important that genuine thought and effort go into the letters as they are going to real people currently fighting for our country.
