Want to try the Weekly Vocabulary Units before you buy? Download this freebie to check out a week of the September Unit! Looking for a fun way to incorporate themed vocabulary into your classroom or homeschool? Use these weekly thematic word work units to introduce new words and practice spelling, handwriting, sentence building, and drawing. Each week features a different themed picture or pictures, six vocabulary words to learn, and five days of quick, fun activities using those words. Daily activities are numbered to keep the student on track and are quick enough to be used as morning work or in a literacy center. All units include five weeks of vocabulary work so that in months with four weeks you can choose the themes that best fit your classroom. Also included: black and white versions of all five weeks for easier printing. This download is for the full color version of the Apple Orchard week in the September unit. Turkey Sequencing Activity- There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey

Use this activity to sequence the events in There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey. Each event is pictured on a turkey feather that, when completed, creates an adorable turkey that sequences the story. Print on cardstock to make it more durable or mat it on a large piece of construction paper. Students will color and cut out the turkey feathers and body, glue them together, and have a great "craftivity" that tells what happens in this adorable book.

Vocabulary instruction is an important component of literacy instruction in preschool. It also provides children with an understanding of a variety of words which in turn can help with later reading comprehension. Vocabulary instruction is valuable as it builds the foundation for later reading skills, such as comprehension. A child needs to be taught vocabulary in many different ways.

*Create Review flashcards to send home of the Early Learner words and the sentences tried out in class
*You can play games with them
*Share the link with parents- they can hit play in the car or at home to have the flashcards flip through and review items learned in class
*You can hit play to preview the terms and sentences or review them with your kiddos
*I LOVE doing repeat-after-me activities where the Quizlet reads it and then my kiddos repeat it.
*projecting onto your board, then sounding out the words together is key with the focus being on JUST the words and sentences without the busy pictures and activities around them.

The Berenstain Bears and the Blame Game Comprehension Questions

The Berenstain Bears and the Blame Game comprehension questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about blaming siblings/friends for something they didn't do, how they felt if they were blamed for something they didn't do before, feeling discouraged or miserable, the expression - peeling back the layers of an onion and what it means, sequencing events, solving problems instead of blaming, steps that can be followed to solve problems and working together to solve a problems. Students can answer these short answer questions, yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, fill in the blank questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

Welcome to our Goodnight Moon Scrappy Story Quilt coloring activity! Bring the beloved children's book to life with this fun and interactive crafting project.
After reading the story Goodnight Moon, students will create a Goodnight Moon Scrappy Story Quilt.
- Cut and paste Goodnight Moon patches
- Assemble and color your very own Scrappy Quilt
Scrappy Patchwork Quilts
A scrappy quilt uses a variety of different fabrics that may or may not use a consistent theme. In this new version of cut and paste, students will make a scrappy quilt using a variety of pattern blocks included in the activity. The students must complete a set of questions or activities to know what numbered pattern to use and where it should be placed on their quilt. Each quilt has its own color scheme (color chart) and those are the colors students will need to create a one-of-a-kind scrappy quilt. Each quilt comes with a header, and some have additional activities students must complete to finish their quilts. Each quilt once assembled with header is 11x14 inches (does not include the size if a quilt has an additional activity).
