✬This assignment is meant to help students not only practice their Spelling words but also to help them acquire a larger vocabulary. There is space for fifteen Spelling words. However, the second page can always be printed again to add additional words as needed. Students should write their Spelling word, the definition, and use it in a sentence.

Tips and advice:

✬It is completely understandable that there might not always be time to incorporate an assignment like this into the students’ regime of homework. Because of that, I have also used this if my students failed their Spelling tests. In my classroom, if they received less than an 80% on a Spelling test, I printed this out on Monday and stapled their test to it. (Others will draw the line at different percentages. I had ESL students who needed the vocab practice.) It was due on Friday. They then had to do this activity with any of the words that they spelled wrong. I would grade this assignment based on correct spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and correct definitions. Once done, I averaged the grade from this assignment with their test score and entered the new, higher grade into my gradebook. For the ESL students in my class, this assignment was very helpful in broadening their vocabulary.

On each page students will trace the given word five times, write the word five times, trace a sentence using the given word, write the same sentence, and cut out letters and paste them to make the given word.

Practice the INTO READING program Spelling Words of HMH easily and with no prep.

Complete set of worksheets, ready to be used, of the 300 Spelling Words from the 36 weeks of the HMH program INTO READING in first grade. It will contain 6 words every week for the first 15 weeks, but 10 words every week for each of the next 21 weeks. It can be used as homework or even as a center.

Purchasing this resource will give you the 12-page PDF file to work on the 10 Spelling Words of the 2nd week of the 8th module. Each word has its own page, and you have two different options for the back of the page. One of the options is to continue formulating sentences with the word of the day, while the second option is to practice how to write the word of the day or even the other words of the week.

Each module has 3 weeks and the program consists of 12 modules (36 weeks).

Each word will be worked on in 8 different ways:

Reading the word and the sound of every letter.

Tracing of the letters that make up the word.

Searching for the word among other words of the same week.

Arranging the letter tiles to form the word.
