Scheduling students and staff members can be difficult in a self-contained classroom. This editable schedule allows for you to customize your daily activities so that you can look at a glance and know where everyone of your staff and students should be. This really helps classroom staff as well as administrators know where to find teachers, paras, and students.

This sensory room grant was awarded and funded in 2018.

I have won over $10,000 in grants for special education in my classroom and district. This particular grant was for $3,795.16 of sensory room equipment. Please note that prices change and this part of the grant will need to updated.

This grant is attached as a word document to make editing it an ease. You can choose to go with the equipment requested in my grant or change it out to what your sensory room needs.

Knowing what signs indicate sensory needs is imperative for adults working with students with autism or sensory processing disorders. This poster gives indicators of ONE type of sensory need 'vestibular'. It also pairs signs that a student may be over or underresponsive to vestibular sensory and activities to help the student self-regulate under either circumstance. This Lesson Plan or Scope and Sequence was created for special education or life skills classes. Each lesson has three levels that are vertically aligned to provide access for ALL students to the standards, the leveled activities are for guided or independent practice. The units are set up in two-week increments and include two whole group lessons with links to videos or songs that align with the unit of study. Each unit repeats itself halfway through the year to ensure that students do not regress but retain what they learned previously. Check out the preview.

When a new student comes to class there are several things that take priority to everything else. I made this document after enrolling several new students this year. It has simplified my life tremendously by having a guide to go by when speaking with parents of new students. It also helps tremendously to fill out one of these on each student at the beginning of the year so that paras and teachers have a quick guide to go by per student.

This product can be used with students as an informal/formal adapted assessment. Students will be required to identify the pre-primer, primer, 1st grade,2nd grade, and/or 3rd grade Dolch sight words. If students begin at the pre-primer level and are able to identify a specific amount of each section of sight words, they are going to be ranked as independent, instructional, or frustration when identifying those sight words. Students are then provided with a sentence or brief comprehension passage for each Dolch sight word list. The questions and short passages have been adapted and shortened compared to other reading assessments so baseline data can be collected, especially with those students are struggling. This will help gauge where students need the most support in terms of identifying sight words, reading simple sentences/passages, and answering comprehension questions that relate with what is read.
